The master bricklayer Gustav Lux once acquired the corner plot in Rosenthaler Vorstadt and built a 5-storey tenement block on it in 1905. Almost 120 years later, the former attic floors were converted into two apartments, each measuring around 140 m², flats and a lift was added in the courtyard.
The "Apartment 2" shown here has three bedrooms and two bathrooms. The large, centrally located kitchen/living room, which has a roof terrace in front of it, leads to the rear, more private area of the flat, where the master bedroom with another smaller terrace is located facing the courtyard.
All the floors and wall coverings in the bathrooms have the same tiling. The coarse, irregular grain of the material is characteristic of the flat and contrasts with the smooth, white wall and ceiling surfaces and the built-in furniture, which is also completely white. The result is a calm and restrained architectural language that is complemented by a few accents, such as the anthracite-coloured kitchen.
