Project Year:2024
Category:Private Houses
The owners, a young couple with children, were clear that they wanted a "house in the countryside" and a large space integrated into the house where the children could play. They really liked the vegetation on the plot, so it was important to respect it as much as possible.
We start from a steep plot in Benahavis, with steep slopes with sections of more than 30% and with double curvature. The slope favours the north orientation without sea views, and we find dozens of large cork oaks that condition us, also having a very unique fauna and abundance of wild boars.
With these premises, we start from the basis of not altering the fauna and flora of the plot, so the foundation should be as non-invasive as possible. We decided to lean on two points, and making the simile with a tree, to rise from "those roots" to rise above the plot without attacking it.
We wanted the house to reflect the truth, so the materials used are natural. To reinforce the idea of telling the truth, we left the structure exposed and the concrete finish. The other important material of the project is wood, which we wanted to reduce the industrial effect of the house and give warmth.
