Tidu Restaurant, situated in the heart of Beijing’s SOLANA complex, brings to life a layered design narrative that merges the richness of Chinese tradition with a bold, cosmic vision. Rooted in the brand’s “Tide and Cliff” ethos, the space draws inspiration from the wave-patterned uniforms of traditional Chinese naval admirals, translating these elements into a unique and immersive dining experience where elegance meets innovation. The design is attuned to its riverside location along the Liangma River, mirroring the flow and tranquility of water. Tidu’s signature colors—deep blue and opulent gold—shape a setting that feels both intimate and vast, as though the space itself were an unfolding journey through the cosmos. Occupying a striking cylindrical, three-story structure, Tidu’s SOLANA location captures attention with a facade inspired by planetary rings.
Layered aluminum panels encircle the building, softening its geometry and creating the impression of a suspended, orbiting planet. Subtle lighting enhances this effect, casting an otherworldly glow that transforms the exterior into an architectural landmark. The layered motif flows seamlessly from the facade into the interior, unifying the design across all levels of the restaurant. Inside, the Chinese design philosophy of “gathering beauty” weaves through each space, inviting diners into a sensory-rich experience. The first floor introduces the concept of a “stellar system,” where custom installations evoke celestial motifs. A ceiling of mirrored, rippled stainless steel panels reflects clusters of stars bound by unseen forces, creating a mesmerizing canopy that enhances the high ceilings and invites guests to feel immersed in a luminous star field. Spatial flow and privacy are thoughtfully addressed throughout.
The bar, inspired by an independent star with its own orbit, is strategically tucked behind the reception area, minimizing disruption to the dining space. Its counter features wave patterns that echo the “Tide and Cliff” theme, while translucent acrylic partitions subtly define dining areas, creating privacy without interrupting visual continuity. A bronze metal mesh staircase, adorned with Tidu’s logo, leads to the second floor and a new cosmic setting, inspired by the “galaxias”—a visual metaphor for stars, gases, and cosmic dust. The ceiling’s scattered starlight fixtures replicate a starry night sky, adding to the immersive atmosphere. A spiral staircase, crafted from blue steel and based on the golden ratio, defines the space naturally, creating a sense of openness despite the low ceiling. The adaptable VIP room on this floor can transform from one expansive room to two intimate spaces as needed.
Notable on this level are two circular bronze-colored stainless-steel installations that resemble twin stars, with layered lighting that adds a starlit elegance to the setting. On the third floor, the design culminates in an exclusive private room centered around a round table that accommodates up to 21 guests, ideal for intimate family gatherings or sophisticated business events. Although this floor has a smaller footprint, it makes full use of the space, and the ceiling features custom blue acrylic light fixtures that mimic a galaxy of clustered stars, a final reflection of Tidu’s cosmic vision. Tidu Restaurant at Beijing SOLANA is more than a dining space; it is a multidimensional experience that blends heritage with a layered, imaginative design. Each floor unfolds a new facet of Tidu’s “Tide and Cliff” spirit, guiding guests through a carefully crafted universe of beauty and innovation that seamlessly balances tradition with a bold, cosmic allure.
