Over the course of many Townhalls during the public engagement process for another project of ours, id8 downsview, we repeatedly heard requests from the public for more arts and culture in Downsview. This inspired us to propose XOXO Downsview, a celebration of public art, culture, and local heritage showcasing projects from local artists, fostering community, and showcasing the rich history and promising future of Downsview.

Future Simple Studio was responsible for XOXO Downsview’s creative strategy, naming, voice, branding identity, direction, and the design and development of all communication materials. We also coordinated with dozens of artists, created an Audio Tour and designed XOXO’s first art installation, the Downsview Wind Rose, which kicked-off a series of local competitions that saw participation from over 300 artists and contributors and fostered an approach to local arts that will be used for decades to come.

Through XOXO Downsview, our team created countless initiatives and coordinated with dozens of artists and collaborators over a 2 year period. Each initiative required creative strategy, naming, branding, and implementation.
