“泡泡蒲公英”是“花火计划”的艺术家和志愿者,与云南省大理市巍山彝族自治县鸡碧小学的留守儿童们共同完成的公共艺术装置。
“Bubble Dandelion” is a public art installation jointly created by the artists and volunteers of “Program SPARK” together with the left-behind children of Jibi Primary School in Weishan Yi Autonomous County, Dali City, Yunnan Province.

鸡碧小学是一所汉族、白族、彝族等共同学习生活的多民族融合学校。原址是一座寺庙。两座大殿相对而建,中间是十字形的步道。之后随着校园扩建了新的教学楼,原有寺庙的两个大殿暂时闲置下来,偏置校园一角。
Jibi Primary School is a multi-ethnic integrated school where Han, Bai, Yi, and other ethnic groups study and live together. The original site of the school was a temple. Two large halls were built opposite each other, with a cross-shaped walkway in the middle. Later, as the campus expanded, a new teaching building was constructed, and the two main halls of the original temple were temporarily left unused, located in a corner of the campus.

我们收购了 144 个乡村生活中常见的塑料凳,将它们分为六个大组,喷绘不同的颜色,安装轴承使其可以自由转动,在凳子内部安装了太阳能灯具,绘制并安装了帮助灯光散射的半球。装置的创作共有三组创作主题:大理盛名的“花”与“雪”“月”,连同蒲公英装置所代表的“风”,共同呼应这片大理乡土上的“风花雪月”。孩子们能够感受到“我也是艺术家”,而不仅仅是“我在玩一件艺术品”。
We acquired 144 plastic stools commonly seen in rural life. These stools were divided into six large groups, spray-painted in different colors, and fitted with bearings to allow free rotation. Solar-powered lights were installed inside the stools, along with hemispheres that help scatter the light. The creative themes of the installation were divided into three groups: Dali’s famous motifs of “Flowers,” “Snow,” and “Moon,” along with the “Wind” represented by the dandelion installation. Together, they echo the “Wind, Flowers, Snow, and Moon” of Dali’s local cultural landscape. Through this process, the children could feel, “I am also an artist,” instead of just “I am playing with a piece of art.”

这些凳子组成的一件华丽的球形艺术装置,放置在两座大殿中间的十字步道。原本闲置的寺庙空间,在作品的介入下成为一个新社群的象征中心。学生的日常活动被吸引到这片空间中,原本被边缘化的场所成为了新的“关注点”。这种空间的再激活也与儿童的自我认同相呼应:我与我的空间有关联、我对这个空间的意义产生了贡献。
This magnificent spherical art installation, made from the stools, was placed in the cross-shaped walkway between the two main halls. The previously idle temple space, through the intervention of this artwork, became a symbolic center for a new community. Students’ daily activities were drawn to this space, and what was once a marginalized site became a new “focal point.” This spatial reactivation resonates with the children’s sense of self-identity: “I am connected to this space, and I have contributed to its meaning.”

塑料凳,一种“随意性物品”,不起眼且可随手使用,几乎从未成为被审视的美学物件。这里用到的144个塑料凳是江苏某公司滞销的产品,我们将其低价批量采购回来,物尽其用。它们在花火计划中超越“实用家具”,被改造成了“蒲公英”的“冠毛”。从“静物”变成了“动态的流动符号”,加入轴承、光线与旋转的动态机制,可旋转、可发光,“被看不见的物质”成为了学校中心的美学符号。
The plastic stool, a “casual object,” is humble and easy to use, rarely seen as an aesthetic item worthy of attention. The 144 plastic stools used here were unsold products from a company in Jiangsu. We bought them in bulk at a low price and made full use of them. Through Program SPARK, these stools transcended their role as “practical furniture” and were transformed into the “pappus” (fluffy seed hairs) of the “dandelion.” They shifted from being “static objects” to “dynamic fluid symbols.” With the addition of bearings, light, and mechanisms for rotation, they became movable, luminous, and “invisible substances” were turned into aesthetic symbols at the heart of the school.

蒲公英象征着“自由”“流动”和“希望”,与留守儿童的生活境遇产生隐喻性的关联。由于许多留守儿童的父母在外地打工,他们的生活状态常常是“漂浮不定的”,与蒲公英随风飞舞的状态形成了情感的共振。这种共情性的情感参与使得儿童不再只是项目的“执行者”,而成为符号的共同创造者。
The dandelion symbolizes “freedom,” “movement,” and “hope,” which metaphorically aligns with the living conditions of left-behind children. Since many of these children’s parents work far away from home, their lives are often “unsettled,” which emotionally resonates with the floating, drifting nature of dandelion seeds carried by the wind. This empathetic emotional connection allows the children to no longer be mere “executors” of the project but co-creators of its symbolic meaning.
