This 1930s Mediteranean-style house in Miamis Coconut Grove neighborhood is an example of a vintage and modern blend that is both historic and modern. The home has been meticulously renovated by the team of Collarte Interiors, led by Constanza Collarte, with the aim of creating a bright, functional and poetic living space for the family, while fully retaining the classic qualities of its Mediterranean architecture.

The design blends retro and modern elements to achieve a timeless, sophisticated residential environment filled with natural light. Through ingenious transformation, every corner of the space is oriented towards comfort and functionality, providing a harmonious living experience for the family.

The exterior of the house reflects a typical Mediterranean style, surrounded by a lush garden created by landscape architect Fernando Wong. Despite many renovations, the house retains some of its original oddity, and Collarte has replanned it to create a more coherent and convenient layout.

间布局被调整为开放且实用的形式，加入了大拱形开口和圆角墙壁，营造出柔和且舒适的氛围。地板采用石材和粗糙橡木材质的混合设计，突显建筑的原始特征，同时与整体风格完美融合。

The layout of the space was adjusted to an open and functional form, adding large arched openings and rounded walls to create a soft and comfortable atmosphere. The floors are a mixture of stone and rough oak, highlighting the original character of the building while blending perfectly with the overall style.

The interior design displays a harmonious mix of natural textures and muted colors. In the restaurant, the Arrow chandelier of Apparatus and the retro velvet-topped chair are eye-catching highlights; The master lounge area features a Togo sofa from Ligne Roset and a Slit center table from HAY. The walls were hand-painted with limewater by local artisans, while the doors, floors and wood-beamed ceilings were presented in a white hand-crafted style that enhanced the elegance of natural materials and original finishes. Wood, marble and organic textiles are added to the decor, creating a natural and modern aesthetic.

The houses furniture and accessories are dominated by neutral colors, and the carefully selected collection reflects the designers taste and accumulation over the years. From classics by Kaare Klint, Isamu Noguchi and Gio Ponti, to contemporary designs by young artisans such as Sabine Marcelis and JM Szymanski, antiques and modern art complement each other to create unique and layered interiors.

While the house focuses on tradition and nature, it also incorporates modern technology and is equipped with a smart home system that controls lighting, heating and entertainment systems from a smartphone.

这座地中海别墅巧妙地将历史感与现代性融为一体，既俏皮又精致，又郁郁葱葱的环境和宜居的布局。它的细节让人联想到欧洲古老的农舍与意大利别墅，同时通过现代设计元素推动美学的更新，体现了设计师对空间的敏锐洞察力与深厚情感连接。Constanza Collarte表示，尽管翻新过程中面临不少挑战，但能打造一个完全符合家庭需求的住宅，所有付出都变得值得。

This Mediterranean villa skillfully blends a sense of history with modernity, both playful and sophisticated, with a lush setting and livable layout. Its details are reminiscent of old European farmhouses and Italian villas, while at the same time promoting aesthetic renewal through modern design elements, reflecting the designers keen insight into space and deep emotional connection. Constanza Collarte said that despite the challenges of the renovation process, it was worth it to create a home that fully meets the needs of the family.
