LITTLE VILLAGE

LOCATION:                              Cao Bang, Viet Nam

Located in a mountainous region in northern Vietnam, Little Village is inspired by the local architecture and materials found here, such as tile roofs, mud walls, and bamboo. It aims to create a peaceful and picturesque village on the hilltop.

Inspired by small villages with overlapping tiled roofs and narrow alleyways, the design uses entirely local materials from craft villages in the area: tile-making villages, traditional fabric weaving villages, bamboo production villages. This not only creates a sense of familiarity but also promotes the local people's production while these craft villages are gradually being marginalized by industrialization.

INTERIOR

The entire construction uses unfired clay bricks, tiled roofs, along with natural bamboo. These are local, environmentally friendly materials, minimizing heat radiation. This place aims to create a simple, friendly living space, a new rural image for the Vietnamese countryside.
