Signature Space, a villa in Ra’anana, Israel, was designed by Liad Yosef in 2025. The house features a sharp monochromatic palette, contrasting materials, and maximises natural light with its glass elements. The front facade is covered with grey porcelain tiles, while the interior blends smooth and grooved black veneer panels, basalt stone, and light porcelain flooring. Signature Space also showcases spacious living areas and a well-maintained yard, reflecting an elegant and refined aesthetic.

Interior designer Liad Yosef designed Signature Space, a 400 square metre villa in Ra’anana, Israel, to reflect the personality of its owner, a powerful career woman. “The ultra-modern and refined style embodies an encounter between a sharp, distinct monochromatic color palette and entirely different materials,” said the designer.

The facade of the villa was clad with grey porcelain tiles, contrasting dark wooden cladding on the inside walls. “Some [materials] are very present, like wooden facades and stone elements, which appear light and floating thanks to the balance created by the delicate and transparent glass elements,” Yosef said. Other materials used include travertine stone and recycled materials such as green stone from Shahar Peri and basalt from Deksa.

Light-coloured interiors, dark panels and minimalist furniture fill the space, reflecting the modern style of the exterior tiles. Porcelain oversized tiles for the floors contrast smooth and grooved black veneer panels, some letting light through and some blocking it. “I wanted to create a refined and sophisticated look with a reason behind every choice,” explained Yosef. “There are no hanging light fixtures– they’re all recessed in the ceiling – because choices faithful to the ‘less is more’ concept are the most appropriate for the clean look I was asked to create.”

On the side of the kitchen, a nearly opaque wall opens to an airy and open garden, adding outdoor green areas to the indoor space. Glass walls compose part of the house, bringing transparency to the spaces and enhancing the area’s lighting – a common element in modern design.

The garden also includes a massive pool decorated with large porcelain sandstone tiles for a resistant material with anti-slip properties. The pool has a bench, jacuzzi and jets, accompanied by a sunbathing area. “The balance between heavy and light is also reflected in the three additional facades facing the garden, some parts being opaque and others made of glass, creating fantastic communication between spaces and wings,” said the designer.

Yosef minimised waste by reducing the need for wooden carpentry and additional materials. Instead, the designer opted for techniques like finely sanding the decorative stones and cladding to create different textures within the house.
