CBRE’s Oak Brook office exemplifies the “Future of Work” space standards through dynamic design, unassigned seating, advanced technology, and a blend of urban energy with suburban calmness.
The new Oak Brook office showcases CBRE’s “Future of Work” space standards aimed at creating vibrant, high-performing environments that support demands for activity-based and hybrid work. Flexible, unassigned seating drives workspace utilization by empowering employees to select the best workspace for their function and tasks. Our investment in advanced technology seamlessly supports collaboration across teams and offices to enable productivity. By leveraging occupancy planning and integrating employee insights, we craft a workspace that promotes a strong sense of belonging. CBRE’s forward-looking approach transforms the office into a hub for connection, efficiency and wellbeing, setting a new standard for our workplace strategy.
The design concept is centered around “movement” and “in-motion”, with the goal of adding energy and vibrancy to the office. It celebrates the interconnections between the city of Chicago and Oak Brook through movement and merging the dynamic energy of the city and the peacefulness of the outskirts.
The design features a warm and sophisticated palette with punches of color and contrast to spark energy and interest. Warm wood tones are layered with industrial metals, reflecting the juxtaposition of the city and suburbs. Employee wellbeing and biophilia—connecting employees to nature— are key elements of the office design and are prioritized in both public areas and individual workspaces.
