美丽街区更新，应该怎么做？经过反复地探索和实践，我们发现：“唤醒文化特色，激活商业活力”是巨鹿路的重要目标。挖掘街道的精神内涵，在更新中体现出特有的商业及文化价值是改造的根本目的。这不仅仅是对街区环境的又一次升级，更是对巨鹿路历史文化的再一次深刻挖掘与传承，为这条历史悠久的街道带来全新的面貌与活力。

How to revitalize a beautiful urban neighborhood? We have discovered through repeated exploration and practice that “awakening cultural identity and invigorating commercial dynamism” is a key goal for Julu Road. Unearthing the spirit of the street and embodying its unique commercial and cultural value in the renewal process is the fundamental purpose of the transformation. This is not merely another enhancement of the neighborhood’s environment but also a more profound excavation and inheritance of Julu Road’s historical and cultural significance, breathing new life and vibrancy into this time-honored street.

The Historical Essence of Julu Road

巨鹿路（常熟路－陕西南路）坐落于上海市静安区，隶属备受瞩目的巨富长板块。它始建于 1907 年，历经岁月沉淀，凭借深厚的历史风貌、浓郁的文化底蕴与蓬勃的商业活力，在申城熠熠生辉。漫步其间，从常熟路至陕西南路，英式花园建筑的典雅、新式里弄住宅的质朴一一映入眼帘。这里不仅有承载历史记忆的名人故居，还有彰显潮流风尚的潮牌店与散发迷人氛围的酒吧。经过美丽街区的精心优化改造，巨鹿路成功实现了海派生活气息、潮流网红商业与历史人文资源的完美融合。如今，三者在这条街道上和谐共生，绘就出一幅独具魅力的城市生活画卷。

Julu Road (stretching from Changshu Road to South Shaanxi Road) is located in Shanghai’s Jing’an District, nestled within the highly sought-after wealth area. Established in 1907, this storied street, with its rich historical character, profound cultural heritage, and vibrant commercial dynamism, has become a shining gem of the city. Strolling along the road, from Changshu Road to South Shaanxi Road, one encounters the elegance of British-style gardening residences and the simplicity of modern alleyway houses. It is home to historic celebrity residences that embody collective memories, trendy boutiques that capture the pulse of modern fashion, and enchanting bars exuding irresistible charm. Through meticulous optimization and transformation, this picturesque neighborhood has seamlessly blended Shanghai-style urban living, trendy commercial hotspots, and historical and cultural resources. Today, these elements coexist in harmony on this street, painting a uniquely captivating scroll of urban life.

巨鹿路的商业活力 The Commercial Dynamism of Julu Road

巨鹿路的街道更新，是一次历史与现代的交融，为商业发展注入新活力。国际品牌旗舰店闪耀着现代商业的光芒，在此举办快闪活动，正是看中了这种独特性，为消费者带来沉浸式的时尚体验。与周围的传统建筑形成鲜明对比，却又和谐共生；街头巷尾，创意与灵感肆意流淌，行人穿梭其中，仿佛置身于一场永不落幕的艺术盛宴。

The street renovation of Julu Road represents a fusion of history and modernity, injecting fresh vitality into commercial development. International flagship stores radiate the brilliance of contemporary commerce. We host pop-up events on this road because its unique allure has captivated us, offering consumers an immersive fashion experience. Forming a striking contrast with the surrounding traditional architecture while achieving harmonious coexistence, creativity and inspiration flow freely through the streets and alleys. Pedestrians weave through the space, as if part of an eternal art feast that never ends.

精准定位实现品质升级 Achieving Quality Upgrades through a Precise Approach

巨鹿路常熟路口是巨鹿路的西侧起点。站在 T 字路口望过去，左边是带格栅装饰的小花坛，右边是巨鹿大厦的白色停车棚。站在这里，没人会意识到自己身处巨鹿路，也想不到再走两步，成片上海老洋房就会撞入眼帘。

The intersection of Julu Road and Changshu Road marks the western starting point of Julu Road. Standing at the T-junction, one can see a small flowerbed with lattice decorations on the left and the white Porch of the Julu Building on the right. From this spot, it would be hard for anyone to realize they were on Julu Road, nor would they expect that just a few steps ahead, rows of classic Shanghai-style old villas would come dramatically into view.

袖珍展园面积虽小，仅有 40㎡，但我们仍想将它改造为可进入可停留的袖珍花园，同时利用后方墙面来展示巨鹿路的人文故事。

Although the Pocket Exhibition Garden covers an area of just 40㎡, we still aim to transform it into an accessible and inviting miniature garden. Additionally, we plan to use the rear wall to showcase the cultural and historical stories of Julu Road.

对于巨鹿车廊，考虑到入口的形象化打造，我们本想把非机动车棚移走，将此处作为小型活动场地给市民使用，但在协商之后，了解到此车棚属于巨鹿大厦，停车是刚需，没有条件转移至别处。因此只能转变思路，利用车棚本身将路口的形象提升。

Regarding Julu Parking Porch, considering the visual enhancement of the entrance, we initially planned to remove the non-motorized vehicle shed and designate the area as a small activity space for public use. However, after discussions, we learned that this shed belongs to Julu Building and serves as an essential parking facility, making it infeasible to relocate elsewhere. Therefore, we had to shift our approach and leverage the shed itself to enhance the entrance’s visual appeal.

车廊内的照明、充电配套以及消防设施齐全。车廊外侧靠人行道边，设置半透装饰花纹和拱形半廊，增加趣味性，减少人行的压抑感；

The Porch is equipped with comprehensive lighting, charging facilities, and firefighting equipment. On the side facing the sidewalk, semi-transparent decorative patterns and arched half-canopies have been installed to enhance visual appeal and alleviate the sense of oppression for pedestrians.

从设计的视角来看，城市街角游园绝非简单的一隅绿地，而应是一个复合型的活力空间，它能够全方位承载行人多样化的需求，绝不能仅仅局限于提供一处静态赏景的座椅。

From a design perspective, urban pocket parks are far from being merely small patches of green space; they should instead be dynamic, multifaceted spaces brimming with vitality. These areas ought to comprehensively address the diverse needs of pedestrians, transcending the narrow function of offering static seating for scenic enjoyment.

设计理念中，这个街角小游园被精心注入了丰富多元的可能性。它宛如一座通往复古时光的驿站，巧妙运用马赛克与圆拱门元素，营造出独特的复古氛围，自然地引导路人停下匆忙的脚步，坐下来沉浸式感受这份复古韵味。

In our design concept, this corner pocket park is meticulously imbued with a rich diversity of possibilities. It resembles a nostalgic gateway to a retro era, skillfully incorporating mosaic and arch elements to create a unique vintage ambiance. Naturally, it encourages passersby to pause their hurried pace, sit down, and immerse themselves in this charming retro atmosphere.

绿化空间是马路上的珍稀资源，每一处都值得精心打造。我们利用富民路口的绿化带，延续马路对侧巨鹿游园的形式风格，使其成为绿色的艺术，同时保留一定的休憩功能。

Green spaces are rare resources along the streets, and each one deserves meticulous design. We utilized the green belt at Fumin Road intersection, continuing the aesthetic style of Julu Pocket Exhibition Park on the opposite side of the street, transforming it into a piece of green art while preserving certain recreational functions.

景华新村，即巨鹿路 820 弄，是建于 1938 年的新式里弄住宅，门洞上方“景华新邨”4 个大字由江南画坛宗师朱屺瞻手书。景华新村 12 号“梅花草堂”是朱屺瞻老先生旧居，他曾在此先后创作了《飞机灭蝗图》《飞雪迎春图》等具有时代特征的优秀作品。

Jinghua New Village, located at Lane 820 of Julu Road, is a modern-style alleyway residential complex built in 1938. The four characters "Jinghua New Village" above the entrance were personally inscribed by Zhu Qizhan, a revered master of Jiangnan painting. Situated at No. 12 Jinghua New Village, Plum Blossom Cottage was Zhu Qizhan’s former residence. It was here that he created outstanding works emblematic of their time, such as "The Locust-Exterminating Plane" and "Spring Welcomed by Flying Snow."

JULU758 作为一个年轻化的时尚地标，大量的年轻群体聚集在这里消费休闲。在更新过程中，将原本单一的绿化带融入多样化的活动功能，打破花坛的边界感，将绿化与坐凳、吧台、历史文化元素相结合，色彩基调与 JULU758 创意街区融为一体，同时也是巨鹿路整体风格的一部分。

JULU758, as a trendy landmark for the younger generation, attracts a large number of young consumers for leisure and entertainment. During its renovation process, the originally singular greenbelt was transformed into a multifunctional space by integrating diverse activity features. The boundaries of traditional flowerbeds were redefined, seamlessly blending greenery with seating areas, bar counters, and elements of historical and cultural significance. The color palette harmonizes with the creative aesthetic of the JULU758 neighborhood while also complementing the overall style of Julu Road.

梧桐高耸，树荫浓烈，道路两边米色的围墙和里面花园洋房便是巨鹿路的典型特征，道路氛围优雅静谧，花园内的住户和路上的行人通过围墙产生微妙的联系。我们希望通过一定的干预来延续并优化围墙这道媒介，沿用原来的米色拉毛墙面，将墙裙改为老上海常见的水刷石，墙面上点缀彩绘玻璃壁灯，在细节处体现丰富海派风情。

Towering phoenix trees cast dense shade, and the beige walls flanking the road along with the garden villas behind them are defining features of Julu Road. The road exudes an atmosphere of elegance and tranquility, creating a subtle connection between the residents within the gardens and the pedestrians outside through the presence of the walls. We aim to extend and enhance this medium of connection through thoughtful interventions. Retaining the textured beige walls, we propose replacing the base of the wall with terrazzo finishes commonly seen in old Shanghai. Meanwhile, the addition of stained glass wall lamps would accentuate intricate details, highlighting the rich charm of Shanghai’s unique cultural style.

部分花园的围墙是铁艺围栏，视线内外可穿透，大部分住户都在院内种植了花草，我们打算借用院内的一方土壤来种植爬藤蔷薇，与业主共建一个鲜花满墙的街道，内外同赏。

Some gardens are bordered by iron fences, offering a clear view through. Most residents have planted flowers and greenery within their yards. We plan to utilize a small patch of soil inside these gardens to grow climbing roses, working together with homeowners to create a flower-covered street where both sides can enjoy the vibrant blooms.

历保文保的守护 Safeguarding Historical and Cultural Heritage

四明邨建成于 1932 年，由凯泰建筑事务所黄元吉设计，承载着丰富的历史记忆和文化故事。2005 年 5 月 18 日被正式命名为“文化名人村”，在四明邨住过的人士当中，引人注目的有徐志摩和陆小曼的经典爱情；世界文坛巨匠——印度诗人泰戈尔的背影；鲁迅先生的堂弟周建人优美的散文，都发生在这座有着历史印痕的新式弄堂内。四明邨就是整个上海名人里弄的缩影，四明邨的文化是整个上海里弄文化重要的组成部分。

Constructed in 1932, Siming Village was designed by Huang Yuanji of Kaitai Architectural Firm, embodying profound historical memories and cultural stories. On May 18, 2005, it was officially named the “Cultural Celebrity Village.” Among its notable former residents are figures such as Xu Zhimo and Lu Xiaoman, whose classic love story remains legendary; the silhouette of Rabindranath Tagore, the literary giant of the world and celebrated Indian poet; as well as the elegant essays of Zhou Jianren, the younger cousin of Lu Xun. These moments and stories unfolded within this modern-style lane imbued with the traces of history. Siming Village stands as a microcosm of Shanghai’s lanes that once housed illustrious figures and represents a vital component of Shanghai’s lane culture.

人行视觉环境的梳理

Pedestrian Visual Environment Analysis

巨鹿路两侧不只有花园洋房，还有巨鹿路 819 弄、景华新村、光华里等沿街的新式里弄住宅，以及依附于建筑一层形态各异的商铺也为这条道路增资增色。我们在对人行视觉环境的梳理中，遵从尊重改造有度的原则，不盲目追求创新，努力保护巨鹿路的老味道。在改造中适度地对建筑面层材料、色彩、商铺招牌进行梳理，在维持巨鹿路的独特烟火气的同时，修复被时间磨损的地方，提升街道的品质感。

On both sides of Julu Road, there are not only garden-style houses but also new-style alleyway residences such as Lane 819 Julu Road, Jinghua New Village, and Guanghua Lane. Additionally, the diverse range of street-level shops attached to the buildings further enhances the vibrancy and charm of this road. In our process of analyzing the pedestrian visual environment, we adhered to the principle of respectful and moderate renovation, avoiding blind pursuit of innovation while striving to preserve the old charm of Julu Road. By appropriately refining the facade materials, colors, and shop signage during the renovation, we aimed to maintain the unique bustling vibe of Julu Road while restoring areas worn down by time and elevating the overall quality of the street.

实施过程中，我们遵从尊重改造有度的原则，不盲目追求创新，努力保护巨鹿路的老味道。在改造中适度地对建筑面层材料、色彩、商铺招牌进行梳理，在维持巨鹿路的独特烟火气的同时，提升街道的品质感。

During the implementation process, we adhered to the principle of respectful and moderate renovation, avoiding blind pursuit of innovation while striving to preserve the old charm of Julu Road. By appropriately refining the facade materials, colors, and shop signage during the renovation, we maintained the unique bustling vibe of Julu Road while elevating the overall quality of the street.

我们将几个原本不起眼的角落改造为能为居民或路人提供服务的街头公共活动场所；将巨鹿路的传奇历史故事融合在街道景观中讲述给过路的人们；设置了专属的 logo 元素，让公众能在不经意间发现这些小细节，记住巨鹿路；也将一些老旧的建筑材料和店铺设施翻新，为这里带来了活力与便利，给多样的街道活动带来了可能性。

We have transformed several previously inconspicuous corners into street-side public activity spaces that serve residents and passersby. By embedding the legendary historical stories of Julu Road into the street’s landscape, we narrate them to those who stroll by. Dedicated logo elements have been introduced, enabling the public to discover these subtle details inadvertently and remember Julu Road. Additionally, some old construction materials and shop facilities have been refurbished, infusing the area with vitality and convenience, while unlocking the potential for diverse street activities.
