01 整体概念 Overall Concept a) 概念生成 Concept “一切现象，就像一个幻象，一个影子，一道灯笼的光芒。光熄灭的地方，无物存在，空心竹灯。虚怀若竹。”——这首短诗概括了这座花园设计的理念。

All conditioned phenomena are like a illusion, a shadow, a glow of lantern, where the glow has gone, there is nothing. Hollow lantern, as humble as bamboo. ——This short poem summarizes our idea.

b) 手绘设计 Sketch

由灯笼、竹子、金沙遗址等蜀地文化意向出发，TOM 先生希望探索中国文化给自己带来的感悟。竹子和灯笼的“空心”，仿佛指示自然的本源是谦逊、虚心而自我隐藏的，但它产生出自然的力量、美和容易被忽视的存在。

Starting from the cultural intention of lanterns, bamboo, Jinsha Ruins and other characteristics of Shu, Mr. Tom explores the insights that Chinese culture brings to him. The “hollow” of bamboo and lanterns, the coexistence of emptiness and reality, as if to indicate that the origin of nature is humble, modest, and self-hidden, which gives rise to the power, beauty and easily overlooked presence of nature.

02 方案设计 Design

a) 方案平面 Site Plan

竹是象征谦逊而坚韧的植物。如果在想象中把竹子横切开，会看到它们的内部是空洞，而外部是一圈圆形的、看不透的表层。这座花园的结构正是源于这一“空心竹灯”的意象：它由一层层编织网的墙，组成同心圆外层，花园平面如同被切开的竹子，呈现出环形。层层重叠的影子，环绕着花园的中央，那里有一团发光的雾气，仿佛灯笼的光。

Bamboo is a plant that symbolizes humility and tenacity. If we cut open a bamboo pole or lantern in imagination, the inside would be empty, while the outside would be a round invisible surface. The structure of the garden is derived from this image of a “Lantern”: it consists of layers of nylon meshes that form the outer layer of concentric circles. The plan is shaped like a cut bamboo, showing a circular shape. Layers of patterns and shadow surround the center of the garden, where there is a glowing mist, like the light of a lantern.

b) 方案剖面 Section

整个园子面积 1073m2，最高处为 8 米高入口的“竹林重影”区域。花园主材料为竹构架，金属框架结构的编织网迷宫以及周边的竹丝束，均为环保可再生的材料。编织网为尼龙材质。竹丝束的想法来源于四川的竹丝晒场，而竹制水瓶架，竹制脚手架是对于竹子的一些新功能利用，希望这些简单可及的材料能够变得鲜活而具有生命力。

The garden covers an area of 1,073m2, with the highest point being the 8-meter-high entrance “Bamboo Forest Shadow” area. The main material of the garden is bamboo frame, the metal structure of the labyrinth and the surrounding bamboo wire bundles are all environmentally friendly and renewable materials. The main material is nylon netting. The idea of the bamboo bundles comes from the Sichuan bamboo wire sunbeds. And the bamboo water bottle rack and bamboo scaffolding are some of new utilization of bamboo, adding some little fun to the whole garden. We hope these simple and accessible materials can become fresh and have vitality.

整个花园的高度变化分为三个层次：

1.8 米高竹林；

2.4 米高朦胧空心竹灯结构；

3.2 米高竹丝晒场。

There are three levels of height variation throughout the garden.

10m height bamboo；

4m height humble Lantern；

2m height bamboo buddles。

03细节分析

Details

设计的最大的难点是在于 4 米高的框架。结构要求纤细且稳固，为了达到这一效果，设计由金沙太阳神鸟图案启发，在框架顶部设置螺旋形的金属拉网，在结构上起到二次稳固的作用。其次，层层叠叠的网状迷宫中，尼龙网是氛围感体现的关键，我们与施工方、厂家一起进行了多次商讨，在几十种样品中挑选，以达到最佳效果。

The most difficult part of the design was to keep the 4-meter-high frame structure slim and stable, and to achieve this effect, the design was inspired by the Jinsha Sun Bird motif, with a spiral metal structure at the top of the frame. This ingenious design pays homage to the ancient Shu culture, while also providing a secondary stabilizing effect on the structure. Secondly, the layered mesh labyrinth, nylon mesh is the key to the embodiment of the sense of ambience so we held many discussions with the constructor and manufacturers, held many discussions, and, we chose among dozens of samples to achieve the best effect.

在“空心竹灯”的中心有一个雾景观，底部埋有射灯及雾喷口，封口处的亚光面不锈钢板切割出细密的图案及文字，烟雾朦胧的灯光象征灯笼中心的光亮。框架立柱位置的雾喷口，与地面砾石结合，通过角度的调整，既呈现雾与光影，又不会打湿尼龙网。

In the center of the “Lantern ” there is a glowing cloud emerging from the bottom of the recessed chamber. The chamber contains recessed spotlights and fog nozzles. The seal of the matte stainless-steel plate cut out a fine pattern to create the center of the glowing lantern. The fog nozzles at the position of the frame columns, combined with the gravel on the ground, are adjusted by angle to present fog and light without wetting the nylon mesh.

c) 竹制脚手架 Bamboo Scaffold

花园中所有竹构架，均采用传统竹构件的榫卯连接技艺，如缠结法，插件连接法等。在竹构件的交接处也精细打磨，减少毛刺。所有竹构架安装完成，待颜色稳定后，再涂上保护剂，以满足防腐需求及颜色的稳定性。

All the bamboo frames in the garden adopt the traditional mortise and tenon jointing techniques of bamboo members, such as the tangle knot method and the plug-in joint method. The intersections of the bamboo frames are also finely polished to minimize burrs. All bamboo frames are installed and then coated with a protective agent after the color has stabilized to meet the needs of corrosion resistance and color stability.

d) 植物 Plantings

在植物方面，竹子是整个花园最鲜明的特色，从竹林到竹丝束晒场，从竹构架到竹制饮水架，对竹子的各种使用和探索，展现出了竹子最有趣的状态。其他地被植物如阔叶麦冬、迷迭香、灯芯草等更加谦逊，突出花园的含蓄。同时迷迭香等植物的芳香，也增添了花园无形的感官呈现。

When it comes to the planting design, bamboo is the most distinctive feature of the whole garden, from bamboo forest to bamboo silk bundles for sunbathing, from bamboo frames to bamboo drinking scaffolding, the various uses of bamboo and the exploration of bamboo in different status show the most interesting situation of bamboo. Other groundcover plants such as broadleaf maitake, rosemary, and cordgrass were chosen to emphasize the understated beauty of the garden in a humble manner. At the same time, rosemary and other plants have a certain special aroma, adding a sense of enjoyment to the tourists.

04 结语 Conclusion 花园像一座迷宫，吸引游人向深处探索。通过“空心竹灯”，借助竹子蕴藏的空洞、灯笼或明或暗的光亮，我们希望自然现象能在这里展现它引人遐想的存在。

The garden is like a maze, attracting visitors to explore the depths. Through the “Lantern”, we hope that natural phenomena can reveal their evocative presence here – with visitors both fading and emerging from view.
