狮山公园丨中国苏州丨TLS景观设计事务所

雄伟的花岗岩山丘——狮子山坐落在苏州城郊。它曾经被描绘在最早的城市地图：宋代《平江图》（1229年）上，永恒地守护着苏州城。在周边平缓的地形中，狮子山显得尤为突出，传说它回头遥望虎丘，守护着苏州人民。在其陡峭的山径上分布着“狮山十八景”的历史人文景观。许多年来，山脚下的游乐园与周围阻隔，小型湖泊过度人工化，山体被游乐场景点、缆车和广告牌遮挡……尽管承载了苏州人的童年回忆，但游乐场的搬迁，也让这片古老的自然人文风景能够再次回归公众。

The majestic granite hill Lion mountain, stands in the western suburb of Suzhou. It was depicted on one of China’s earliest urban maps – the Pingjiang Map from the Song Dynasty (1229), eternally guarding the city of Suzhou. Rising from the surrounding gentle terrain, it stands out prominently, and it is said that Lion mountain gazes back towards Tiger Hill to defend its community. Along its steep trails there are historical and cultural site of “18 Scenes.” Recently, its surroundings have been diminished with a amusement park at its base, a small muddy lake dwarfed by roller coasters, attractions, and an aerial tram up the mountain face. Large billboards and advertisements were plastered to its face. It once had the childhood memories of Suzhou’s people, but through its relocation, this natural and cultural landscape has been open for public again.

2016年，TLS赢得了狮山公园国际竞赛，旨在恢复狮子山风景的尊严，创建一个72公顷的新公园、新山水结构和开放的城市文化空间，以纪念这一天然地标。经过九年的努力，公园现已完工。

In 2016 TLS won an international competition to restore the greatness of Lion Mountain and create a 72 hectares park, new lake, and district that honors this landmark. After nine years of work the park is complete.

公园构成“一山、一湖、一环”的整体结构。最初一步是扩展湖泊，使其尺度与山平衡，容纳狮山与天空的壮丽倒影，也让山水在生态多样性上互补。考虑苏州的梅雨季，公园收集山体与园内的地表径流，流经生态浅沟、梯田湿地、水上森林湿地，最终净化达到适合游人接触的水质。并以溢水道湿地连接外河，调控水位。新的滨水活动和水上娱乐项目取代了游乐园，形成自然中的休闲和社交场所。

一条2.2公里长的宏伟主环路，环抱着山与水。其设计思考，来源于明代仇英的苏州版《清明上河图》与清代徐扬的《姑苏繁华图》（狮子山出现在这幅长卷的中央）。画中苏州城的市井生活，与园林和城郊的山林和谐地融为一体。我们想象在未来，这种平衡的生活再次环绕着狮子山，正像苏舜钦“一径抱幽山，居然城市间”所言。主环路形成一个稳固的结构，将日常生活、公共文化建筑、与永恒的山水和历史人文记忆连接为整体。

A great ring promenade, two kilometers in length binds together mountain and lake. Its design inspiration stems from painter Qiu Ying’s Suzhou version of Riverside Scene at Qingming Festival, and also Qing Dynasty painter Xu Yang’s Prosperous Suzhou (where Lion Hill prominently anchors the center of the scroll). The painting’s vibrant urban life harmoniously blends with Shanshui – a balance the park recreates around Lion mountain, echoing Su Shunqin’s poetic vision: “A path hugging secluded Mountain, unexpectedly within city bounds.”

主环路的花岗岩铺装呼应着狮子山的花岗岩山体，以及苏州著名的金山石，它们和榉树阵列一起，形成一个稳固而简洁的整体。在山西侧，主环路通过桥梁，穿越巨大的岩石豁口，从城市文化转变为山林气氛，并提供更多跑步道空间。

The granite paving of the Ring Road echoes the granite rock types of Lion mountain and Suzhou’s famous golden mountain rocks, which together with the zelkova tree array form a solid and simple space. On the western side of the mountain, the Ring Road across bridge and through huge rock gaps, transforming from an urban culture place to a mountain forest atmosphere and providing more running path.

我们最初在公园内策划了一系列文化建筑，由主环路相连。最终它们扩展为三大文化建筑，组成一个综合的公园文化区：包括GMP设计的苏州博物馆西馆，SANAA设计的狮山大剧院，Perkins and Will设计的苏州科技馆。由地下空间系统将其连接。

Initially, we planned a series of cultural facilities within the park, connected by the Ring Road, which ultimately evolved into three major cultural public buildings forming a cultural campus: includes Suzhou Museum West by GMP, Civic Theater by SANAA and Science Museum by Perkins and Will.

人们可通过地下层的地铁站到达公园，地铁出口就像走进一片峡谷，可遥望山脉的壮丽景色。游人沿着喷泉溪流，或穿越“峡谷花园”的狭窄嵌道，向上步行，来到主环路和开阔的湖边。一路上，跳跃的互动喷泉吸引人们亲水、玩水。

Visitors can access the park via an underground metro station, where the exit opens up like a canyon framing dramatic mountain view. Travelers then follow fountain streams or ascend through the narrow passageways of the “Canyon Garden,” ultimately arriving at the Ring Raod and the lakeshore. Along the way, the jumping interactive fountains attract travelers to enjoy and play with the water.

在东广场和峡谷花园中，设置了多处舞台空间，以狮子山和大剧院为背景，容纳了热闹的公共文化生活，使得公园东侧成为真正的公园文化区。

In the east square and canyon garden, a number of stage spaces are set up, with Lion Mountain and the Civic Theater as the background, to accommodate the lively public cultural life, making the east side of the park into a real cultural campus.

在湖中，“络雨亭”设有环绕式的数控雨帘，形成一处漂浮的水中舞台。亭的顶内藏有投影装置，可向水帘投射狮山与苏州文化的光影艺术，在水天一色中展现江南烟雨主题。

The “Rain Pavilion” in the lake features an artistic precipitation installation, providing a floating stage on water with CNC water curtain devices. The pavilion has projection devices in the roof, which can project the Lion Mountain theme and Suzhou theme light art into the water curtain, to show the theme of Jiangnan misty rain.

在苏州博物馆西馆前，一条多年生地被植物组成的草境，将博物馆入口轴线与山水连接。在三座文化建筑之间，有枫树林荫路、呼应戏曲文化的评弹剧场、纪念苏州石文化的岩石花园、布设象棋桌的棋乐树林、和儿童游乐区，分布在绿岛状空间中。

In front of the Suzhou Museum West, a grassy border of perennial ground cover plants aligns the museum entrance axis with lake and mountain. Between the three cultural buildings, a tapestry of themed spaces unfolds across green island parcels: maple tree avenue, Pingtan theater echoing the opera culture, Rock Garden for the Suzhou stone culture, Chess Forest with chess tables, and a children’s play area.

山麓的森林得到严格保护，登山路上的“灯笼标识器”标记了“狮山十八景”的历史文化记忆。观景平台向西眺望太湖边的群山，向东遥望虎丘与苏州古城，“灯笼标识器”在此讲述山林与城市间发生的故事，包括恢复著名的传说：“狮子回头望虎丘”的眺望点；山路上的一座诗人小剧场，纪念白居易和其他诗人登狮山所写的诗句，以及老照片标识器，对比山上曾经的古迹风景与今天的景象等。

The forest in the foothills is strictly protected, and the “lantern marker” on the climbing trails marks the historical and cultural memory of the “18 scenes”. The viewing platform looks west to the mountains beside Taihu Lake and east to the Tiger Hills and the ancient city of Suzhou, where the Lantern marker tells the stories and memories. Including restoration of the famous legend: “the lion looking back at the tiger hill” overlook; A poet’s small theater on the mountain road commemorates the poems written by Bai Juyi and others for Lion Mountain. And old photo signage, comparing the historic sites on the mountain before with the scene of today.

在山的西面，公园建立了新的生态区以创造栖息地。穿过森林中岩石露头的隐蔽山径，有森林跑步道、质朴的休闲运动区、竹林迷宫和儿童自然游乐区分布在山脚。在湖边，过山车花园、小火车隧道融入恢复的自然生境，让人们忆起童年。

New ecozones established on the west side to create habitat. Discrete mountain pathways threaded through the forest and rocky outcrops along with rustic recreation opportunities, running path, bamboo mazes, and children’s nature play fill the lower reaches. By the lake, the roller coaster garden and small train tunnel blends into the restored natural habitats, reminds people of childhood.

建设中的音乐项目，构成了公园里重要的艺术品。中国作曲家韩宜芳的一段有苏州风格的冥想音乐，将回响在步道旁的一个“音乐亭”内。在湖边的一处“音乐平台”上，未来人们还将听到一首传统与现代结合的音乐作品，它混合了旧游乐园的各种声音的录音，以及琵琶和苏州传统乐器的演奏。这部作品由克罗诺斯四重奏与著名琵琶演奏家吴蛮合作完成，代表着公园融合现代与历史、让城市为山水庆贺的期许。我们希望狮子山将因此感到宁静和愉悦，和平地保护着现代苏州。

Music projects under construction composes the park’s art program. A modern forest meditation by local composer, Yifang Han will fill the space of a pavilion along the promenade. At a terraced wood deck overhanging the lake edge one will hear a traditional / modern composition including sounds of the old amusement park. The work is composed and performed by The Kronos Quartet in collaboration with famed Pipa player, Wu Man. Representing the park’s goal to merge modernity and history and allow the city to celebrate local Shanshui, the Lion will be soothed and pleased, to protect modern Suzhou peacefully.
