DZEN Resort Complex
A place of peace and seclusion, where the true highlight is the breathtaking panorama of the mighty Carpathians. Yet, the design and execution of this space deserve just as much attention — welcome to the DZEN Resort Complex.
The “Dzen” shape of our signature Event Hall and restaurant is one of a kind — the first and only structure of its form in the Carpathians. Another standout feature is a treehouse with a glass roof, offering stargazing opportunities late into the night.
Our journey through DZEN begins at the reception building. It has a simple rectangular façade, with a visually extended rear section due to its placement on a slope. The exterior embodies minimalism, highlighting clean lines and calm geometry.
A parking area is situated right in front of the reception. Here, visitors are greeted by a minimalist landscape stone with the complex’s name engraved — a subtle yet stylish welcome.
As we move further, we encounter the cottages. As mentioned, all units share the same shape, size, and layout. Given the expansive terrain, guests will be transported to their cottages by golf carts. This consideration shaped the road and landscape design, ensuring smooth and easy access throughout the site.
Due to the challenging terrain, each cottage is built on stilts of varying heights, ensuring structural stability on the mountain slopes.
All cottages are clad in dark timber, accented by a copper strip along the base. This detail catches sunlight at varying angles, creating a glowing effect that adds a subtle brilliance to each building.
Each unit consists of two levels. The upper level features an open terrace complete with a jacuzzi and loungers — an ideal space to unwind while soaking in the mountain views. A net hammock, tilted for optimal sightlines, invites guests to lounge while gazing out across the landscape.
All cottages are equipped with solar panels, providing an alternative and sustainable backup power source.
A defining advantage of our cottages, aligned with the concept of the resort, is their seclusion and privacy. Each unit is designed to offer guests complete isolation, ensuring peace, quiet, and personal retreat.
The landscape design is a carefully considered element. To add freshness and contrast to the darker architectural tones, spruce trees have been planted near each cottage.
We also feature three unique patio designs — one with concrete over sand, another with stone elements, and the third showcasing a custom red concrete bench.
The restaurant and Event Hall, with its iconic “Dzen” form, is set to be expanded — the existing project is expected to double in size.
From the Dzen building, two cableways lead guests to different destinations: one to the treehouse, and another to a viewing platform with a telescope, offering a unique stargazing experience under the Carpathian sky.
