MillerKnoll is the world’s premiere manufacturer of furniture for the home and office.

Standard Issue was challenged to recreate the behind-closed-doors experience of the Herman Miller “Test Lab” within the confines of a 3,500 square foot pavilion atop MillerKnoll’s Chicago building.

We created a single superstructure that contained eight fully functional mechanical tests. Each test replicated actual tests being conducted within the Michigan test lab. Running day and night we bent, hit, spun, dragged, squished, opened, and closed a variety of chairs, sofas, tables and cabinets.
