The MOBILECLINIC, designed by ARCò – Architecture & Cooperation and promoted by NGO Vento di Terra is a prototype which offers an alternative to the current first-aid situation in Palestine. The target is to provide a mobile system able to guarantee the basic medical assistance for Area C population, and able to undergo the existing military laws.

Internal Space
Around 150.000 Palestinians are currently living in an area labeled as Area C of the West Bank, where construction permits depend on the Israeli Civil Administration which on the practice doesn’t release permits for Palestinian citizens. Major part of Area C population live in communities without basic health facilities.

Clinic in Palestine
The MOBILECLINIC is easy to be built and doesn’t need high-tech solutions. All the materials and technical details have been conceived on low-tech principles, decision that came from the necessity of constructing the whole unit locally, with materials, skills, and technologies available on the Palestinian Territory.

Clinic in the factory
The sustainability is on the basis of the whole project, on its economic, social and environmental aspects. The clinic is provided with a photovoltaic system able to cover the electricity demands of all the devices: fridge, internal lighting, laptops and medical equipment. The inverter and controller of that system are placed inside the unit and the batteries on a special box welded under the trailer.
