Khorol

The village of Khorol is located in the western part of Primorsky Krai, in the heart of the Khorolsky District, where the flat expanses meet the spurs of the mighty Sikhote-Alin. Surrounded by hilly steppes, oak groves and meadows, this place attracts not only with its rich history, but also with amazing natural harmony - here you can feel the real Far Eastern expanse and the comfort of rural life.

The park

The improvement of the park near the House of Officers of the Soviet Army (DOF) is especially important to the residents of the village, as it is a truly public space that combines history, memory, and everyday life. The park serves as a place for walks, meetings of veterans and former military personnel near memorials, including the Monument to Pilots, highlighting its significant social and symbolic role in the village. The park also lies at the intersection of local social connections. However, its current state requires attention: an overgrown ravine and stream create obstacles to comfortable use, and the green areas have become overgrown.

At the same time, the park remains a place with heavy foot traffic — it is used daily by locals walking to school or the village center. Landscaping will not only help preserve the memory of the military past but also transform the park into a comfortable, well-maintained place for relaxation, gatherings, and patriotic events, making it a real public center of life in Khorol.

The territory was formed in close connection with the life of the settlement: green spaces were preserved here and a stable usage scenario was formed. The loss of the Officers' House became a turning point, forming a void - both physical and semantic. There was a need to rethink the space with the creation of new points of attraction and delicate restoration of the lost historical memory.

Consept

The park is located in the transit zone between the residential area of ​​the garrison and the center of the village. Every day, schoolchildren and residents pass through it on their way to their business. Previously, this place was the House of Naval Officers - an important social and cultural center destroyed by fire. Today, the territory preserves the memory of it, forming not only a transit space, but also a center of attraction for all generations.

The key concept is "The Wheel of Memory and Life". Creation of the open-air park of the House of Naval Officers. The space of the park is built as a system of interacting gears - each zone plays its role in the overall system: memory, development, contemplation. These gears symbolize continuity, collective energy and the importance of each participant. The park becomes a living mechanism in which each function has its place, and people - their role. Thus, despite the loss of the main object - the House of Naval Officers, its functions and tasks will live and develop on the territory.

Identity

Spatial structure

The park layout is based on three circular zones:

The first circle is the central circle zone with a fountain and benches. This place opens right after the entrance group and the memorial space located on both sides of the entrance. This circle sets the main direction of movement and gathers people. It symbolizes memory, acting as an anchor for the entire composition. This is the heart of the park, preserving history, military honor and the spirit of the fleet. This zone also includes a dance floor, a stage for organizing events, as well as pavilions (rental, toilet, cafe, ice cream).

The second circle is an active sports and children's zone. It includes a universal sports ground and a new playground. This zone is about movement and the future - about children who grow up here, learn to be part of society, interact with each other and with nature.

The third circle is a natural zone. Here is a walking alley with a pergola and a skating rink. This is a zone of contemplation and peace. It gives you the opportunity to connect with nature and yourself, to recharge, to take a break from the rhythm of the city.

Thus, the Fleet Officers Park becomes not just a territory between points on the map, but a space of life. This is a place where memory turns into movement, children's laughter into the future, and nature into spiritual balance. History continues here - in a new rhythm, with new energy, but with the same depth of meaning.
