The Apple Wall is our group’s response to creating a thermal wall out of salvageable materials. The objective was to design a modular wall that can be recreated by low-income homes to improve energy efficiency and heat retention in the winter. Our group’s design focused on expressing the characteristics of a novel recyclable material (apple box trays) and proposing engagement with local maker-spaces to provide access to laser cutters, helping foster a sense of community.
