« A playful take on Old Tbilisi charm »

CONCEPT

Located in the heart of Old Tbilisi, the hotel draws inspiration from the character of the city’s historic neighbourhoods. In designing the rooms, we looked to the colourful stained glass windows and mosaic panels often found in the entryways of traditional Tbilisi buildings

Mosaic as a visual language is also part of Georgia’s Soviet-era heritage and can still be seen in many places across the country

The calm, neutral base of the room is complemented by playful details, including a wave-shaped yellow headboard, spherical lamps, a bright green table light, and a graffiti-style pouffe. Each element reflects both the local context and the lighthearted spirit of the ibis Styles brand

One of the key elements is a custom carpet with a subtle print we developed specifically for the project. Its pattern was inspired by the decorative mosaic tiles often found in old Tbilisi entryways

To bring our ideas to life, we worked closely with local manufacturers at every stage of the process

Together, we developed multiple prototypes, carefully selecting yarn shades for the carpet and testing colours for the stained glass. Every detail, from the shape of the custom furniture to the finishing touches, was refined to ensure the final design stayed true to the original concept while remaining practical and comfortable

NOW

STANDART ROOM

The standard guest room is visually divided into two distinct zones through the use of colour. The entrance area, painted in a soft pale green, includes the bathroom door and an open wardrobe.This calm shade sets the tone for the arrival experience and creates a gentle transition into the room area​​​​​​​

Stepping into the main part of the room, guests find themselves in a bright, open space where the walls and ceiling are painted in soft, light tones. Grey blackout curtains add a calm, neutral layer, allowing the colourful accents to stand out without overwhelming the interior

The entrance area features a bright yellow open wardrobe, custom-designed by our studio and made of metal. The back is enclosed with a perforated metal mesh, while the side panels feature a geometric pattern that echoes the stained glass design of the bathroom partition. This compact piece combines several functions, offering open shelving, a luggage rack, and a built-in safe. Additional pillows are stored on the top shelf

The TV panel was designed in irregular shape and includes a small built-in pocket for the remote control and printed hotel materials. A playful detail — a small round mirror — is integrated into the panel​​​​​​​

A small pouffe is upholstered in fabric featuring a print made up of letters from the Georgian alphabet, adding another subtle reference to local culture within the room’s design

One of the most captivating design features is the stained-glass window between the bathroom and the room.

The bed features an eye-catching, wave-shaped headboard that adds softness and movement to the space. The bedside tables bring in bold colour and geometric form, continuing the playful character of the room

The bathroom is designed in calm grey tones, creating a neutral and understated backdrop. A bright accent sink adds a pop of colour, while the stained glass window facing the room becomes a key feature, bringing light and character into the space

ATYPICAL ROOM

This room type features a different layout, with the sink positioned outside the bathroom, near the entrance. This solution makes the space feel more open and flexible.

Instead of a traditional workspace, the room includes a small coffee table placed by the panoramic window, offering views over the city

THE STAINED GLASS BATHROOM ROOM

In one of the guest bathrooms, stained glass windows become a central feature. When sunlight filters through the coloured glass, it fills the space with soft, shifting reflections, creating a unique and atmospheric moment within the interior

The design reflects our studio’s signature approach: we love creating bold, vivid interiors with playful details. The result is a space that feels lively, welcoming, and full of character
