Opened since March 10 and located in the heart of the city’s Marais district,

was kept a secret – as hoardings surrounded the retail unit – to conceal the fitting of the store’s interior, which contain artwork by the brand’s longtime affiliate Mark Gonzales. The big opening offered us the Supreme Fall/Winter 2015 collection, but that’s not all. The interiors of the store themselves are worth seeing.

Brinkworth is a design agency based in London, specialising in interior and architectural design, graphics and branding. Recently the studio was responsible for the interior of an old building in Paris to create a retail space for New York streetwear brand Supreme. You’ll surely want to see this

The store is Supreme’s first outpost in Paris, and Brinkworth worked closely with owner James Jebbia and creative studio Wilson Brothers to design the retail space. Creating an “unorthodox” interior with separate entrance room and retail area, the store’s black-coloured facade stands out from the brick of the neighbouring buildings.

“A sensitive planning process led to the site undergoing rigorous restoration and the outcome is a honed and clean envelope, forming the foundations for the new store” said the designers.

In the entrance of the store, a wall installation by artist Weirdo Dave creates a backdrop for Gonzales’ sculpture. A large monitor in the corner is used to show a skate film specifically commissioned for the opening featuring well-known Parisian skaters.

Towards the back of the store, original panelled roofs were restored – allowing natural light to flood the interior.

As with all Supreme stores, garments are positioned around the perimeter of the space to allow for a clear presentation of the product.

A seven-foot-tall sculpture, designed to look like a priest by skateboarder and artist Mark Gonzales, is visible from street level through large windows.
