Vibrant New Orleans Home Filled with Vintage Decor
This colorful and fun home belongs to
Matt & Beau
who’ve always dreamt of living in a typical
New Orleans
shotgun home. The house was built somewhere around the late 1800s and early 1900s and still has most of the
original wood floorings and ceilings
, which adds a whole lot of charm. What caught our attention was the jaw-dropping
vintage decor
they used to adorn their space.
Colorful shotgun homes are ubiquitous in New Orleans and bloggers Matt and Beau, who are both originally from the city, always dreamt of having one. Fortunately, their dream came true and they now own this incredible and cozy space.
They decided to paint the front two rooms a very neutral white to allow the natural light of the front floor length window to really be on display.
Smart move!
While they kept the living room a natural white, in the dining room they decided to go bold and paint it pink.
They thought the golden tones of the chandelier and bar cart would work really well against the color and we couldn’t agree more. The table in the dining room is made of centuries-old repurposed barge wood. It’s remarkably heavy and has a very sturdy farm-house feel to it that we all love.
The outside is gorgeous. One of a kind.
