This Great Gatsby inspired bar and restaurant located at Bishop Street, Penang is 2,650 square feet of blush pink, from the furnishing to the wall coverings, with heavy gold accents and an aesthetically pleasing ambience, perfect for brightening up that Instagram feed with a pop of colour. To immerse yourself in this velveteen dream, reminiscent of a time when alcohol was sneaked around and opulent grandiose was celebrated, one must first get used to the sudden décor changes found across the bar cum restaurant, for there is no blast from the past without a touch of the future.

1 Statement Wall

The artistic splash of colour from the artwork definitely stands out amidst the sea of pink. The décor does well to simultaneously blend and complement the dusky pink wall, while adding a little over the top character into the space.

2 Gilded Arches

The metal curlicued framework arches, coloured pink, that herald the entrance to the bar give off a delicate vibe to the space, that sets the tone for the pink lounge.

3 Seeing Double

The pink on pink theme is the first obvious eye-catching detail that is bound to catch your attention when you enter the bar. The lack of a contrasting colour tone, that we normally see, are what make for luxurious Instagram photo opportunities.

Tying in with the 1920s theme, alcohol used to be banned back then, so bars had to hide behind mundane spaces.
