The architect and interior designer Shamir Shah's apartment, in the Tribeca neighborhood of New York, is a clear example of his aesthetic philosophy that draws inspiration from simple and rural constructions such as those in Africa and from the architecture of masters such as Carlo Scarpa, Richard Neutra and Louis Kahn.

The previous owner of the apartment chose a totally minimalist style that conveyed a feeling of stiffness. Shamir Shah decided to change the layout of spaces and to bring to light the original structure that through the pillars and beams leaves to taste the history and antiquity of the building.

The furniture, almost all belonging to the twentieth century, mixes Scandinavian chairs and French tables, American lamps and Nepalese elements to numerous pieces specially developed by the designer. The apartment also houses the entire contemporary art collection of Shamir Shah.
