When Architect Luciano Gerbilsky and his team embarked on the journey to create the SIMBIOSIS Residence, their aim was to craft not just a house but an environment where nature and architecture engage in a dance of perfect harmony. Nestled on the rugged cliffs of Valle de Bravo in Mexico, the residence stands as an embodiment of their commitment to the delicate balance between built structures and the pristine natural surroundings.

The name “SIMBIOSIS” was chosen with great intention, reflecting their aspiration to establish a profound, mutually beneficial relationship between their creation and the environment it inhabits. Their guiding principle was simple yet profound: to create a home that feels like an integral part of the landscape rather than an intrusion upon it.

The cornerstone of SIMBIOSIS is their devotion to green spaces. They envisioned a landscape where hydrological corridors, with their tranquil ponds and soothing waterfalls, would seamlessly coexist with gardens that weave through the very fabric of the residence. It’s an invitation for residents to reconnect with nature daily, both in social and private spaces.

Lake views served as their compass during the design process, influencing the distribution of volumes to ensure uninterrupted panoramas of Valle de Bravo Lake. Embracing the changing seasons, they strategically incorporated openings in the façade to filter sunlight, creating an ever-evolving tableau of natural beauty.

The vertical connectivity between these levels is a testament to their commitment to innovation. A spiral staircase and a circular elevator encased in a glass cylinder allow residents to effortlessly traverse the residence while being immersed in the sights and sounds of nature.

Descending to the lowest part of the land, a rocky cavern-like passage leads to the “Club del Lago,” a haven of leisure overlooking the lake. Nearby, the “Guest House” beckons with its hotel-suite-like bedrooms and a “roof garden” that blurs the lines between architecture and the natural landscape.
