The challenge for Cassari Group with this two-storey rear extension was to take an older Leederville property and create a modern and bright home that did not negatively impact the character of the home from the street. In seeing the result, it’s not surprising that this fabulous new addition was a finalist at the recent HIA awards for Best Renovation /Addition in its category.

Blending perfectly with the original home the new open plan kitchen, dining and living area have a cool contemporary feel but with some rustic inclusions that ensure it blends well with the original home. The extra ceiling height created by an upper-floor void, adds to the feeling of space on the lower level whilst giving the upstairs a modern loft feel that houses the new master suite complete with Juliet balcony, a large ensuite and walk in robe. Cassari Group have excelled in transforming a compact home into a functional spacious residence whilst still retaining “Leederville” character and charm.
