An Unfinished Story – 02
Project: District Council Passenger SheltersLocation: Ajmiriganj, Baniachang, Habiganj
About a year ago, SREJON Architects & Engineers began work on a special project in the Chunarughat and Madhabpur regions of Habiganj district. The primary inspiration behind this initiative was the then Member of Parliament, Barrister Syedul Haque Suman Bhai. Motivated by his enthusiasm and humanitarian vision, we set out to make the area more livable and passenger-friendly.
Along with my friend Mithun Chandra Das and a senior colleague, I visited various sites in Chunarughat and Madhabpur to conduct initial surveys and develop the project plan.
The main objectives of the project were:
Landscaping around the main roads
Renovation of existing passenger shelters
Construction of several new shelters
We had made significant progress, but the project eventually came to a halt due to a change in government.
Although the project could not be fully implemented, it was a valuable learning experience for us—one that offered deep insights and meaningful challenges. Barrister Suman Bhai is more than just a politician—he is a dedicated, compassionate, and visionary individual. My involvement in this project stemmed from the deep respect and admiration I hold for him.
I firmly believe that such development initiatives should not be limited to Chunarughat or Madhabpur alone. There is tremendous potential for similar shelter development and architectural enhancement in areas like Akhaura Bypass, Chinair, and Sultanpur as well.
If such an opportunity arises in the future, SREJON Architects & Engineers will be ready once again—with the same spirit of service and dedication.
