Located in Poly Time Life, Chengdu, the dida bar & restaurant uses space as a medium to explore more possibilities of urban leisure within the framework of standardized commercial facades.

ChapterⅠ 打破规则

ChapterⅠ Break the rules

空间形体与场所精神的重构。面对商业街区统一的玻璃幕墙，我们在设计时选择打破既有的秩序。在街角转角处引入开放式折叠门，将原本封闭的界面解构重组。吧台被置于室内与街道交界，成为视觉与动线的焦点。这一转变不仅回应了dida全时段餐酒运营的复合需求，更强化了空间的开放性与渗透性，使街角成为具有展示性与参与感的“城市橱窗”。

Reconstructing Spatial Form and Genius Loci. Faced with the uniform glass curtain walls of the commercial district, our design intentionally disrupts the existing order. At the street corner, we introduced open folding doors to deconstruct and reorganize the originally enclosed facade. The bar counter is positioned at the threshold between the interior and the street, becoming both a visual and circulation focal point. This transformation not only accommodates dida’s hybrid demand for all-day dining and bar operations but also enhances spatial openness and permeability. The corner is reimagined as an engaging “urban display window”, inviting interaction and showcasing vibrant street life.

ChapterⅡ 消除边界

ChapterⅡ Blur boundaries

界面消融与多维互动。可完全开启的折叠窗系统，最大限度模糊了内外界限。吧台作为核心节点，将室内外就餐区无缝联结，实现空间的连续与渗透。无论身处室内或街道，均可自由切换场景，丰富用户的空间体验。界面消融后，人与人、人与空间、人与街区的关系被重新定义，社交与公共性的边界得以松动，激发更丰富的互动与交流。

Interface Dissolution & Multidimensional Interaction. The fully operable folding window system blurs the boundaries between interior and exterior to the greatest extent. Serving as the spatial anchor, the bar counter seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor dining areas, achieving spatial continuity and permeability. Whether inside or on the street, patrons can freely transition between scenarios, enriching their spatial experience. Through this dissolution of interfaces, the relationships between people, space, and the urban fabric are redefined. The conventional boundaries of socialization and public engagement become fluid, fostering richer interactions and urban dialogue.

Chapter Ⅲ Emotional atmosphere

松弛感与城市温度的营造。dida在设计语言上着重营造松弛、亲和的氛围。多样化座位形式、通透的空间界面、自然材质与柔和灯光共同构建出一个开放、包容的场域。在商务气息浓厚的街区中，dida如同一处城市绿洲，消解距离感，强化场所的归属与熟悉感。空间不仅承载餐酒功能，更成为城市生活中可被亲近、可被感知的第三空间。

Cultivating Relaxation & Urban Warmth. dida’s design language intentionally cultivates a relaxed and approachable ambiance. Through diversified seating arrangements, permeable spatial interfaces, natural materials and soft lighting, the space transforms into an open and inclusive urban oasis. In this business-dominated neighborhood, dida dissolves social barriers and fosters a profound sense of belonging. More than just a dining establishment, it evolves into an intimate, perceptible “third place”- a cherished urban living room where strangers become neighbors and routines transform into meaningful encounters.
