The legendary 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin reopens its doors after an extensive redesign by studio aisslinger — the same studio behind the hotel’s original concept eleven years ago. While a ten-year cycle is typical for hotel renovations, this transformation went far beyond a standard refurbishment. It was about reactivating key areas and evolving the hotel’s concept to keep it fresh, relevant, and unmistakably Berlin. With the new concept, studio aisslinger once again sets a new milestone for experience-oriented hospitality design through immersive storytelling.

坐落于柏林市中心、毗邻动物园与蒂尔加滕公园（Tiergarten），Bikini 25hours酒店不仅是柏林的标志性目的地，也在全球酒店业界拥有“潮流地标”的地位。即使在开业十余年后的今天，人们依然排长队等候进入知名的Monkey Bar，或在酒店10层的NENI餐厅用餐。此次studio aisslinger的核心任务，是在保留其创造性与非传统气质的基础上进行升级。为了保持其标志性地位，设计师精心调整空间特性，同时引入新鲜体验。结果便是一个充满活力、灵活、多元且富有在地文化气息的全新空间。

Situated next to the Tiergarten in central Berlin, the 25hours Bikini Berlin is a true cult destination in Berlin and across the global hospitality scene. Even today, more than a decade after its inaugural opening, people line up nightly to enter the famous Monkey Bar or dine at NENI on the 10th floor. Central to the redesign by studio aisslinger was the enduring retention of the hotel’s appeal as a creative, unconventional hub. To maintain its iconic status, the hotel’s design has been carefully refined to preserve its character while offering new experiences. The result is a vibrant, unconventional space full of flexibility, unique identity, and local character.

设计焕新

The redesign

新的设计在都市生活方式与绿色自然之间达成和谐平衡，灵感源于酒店独特的位置——毗邻柏林动物园与广袤的蒂尔加滕公园。秉持studio aisslinger一贯的叙事设计语言，整体概念以趣味性、沉浸感与故事性为核心。其打造的“都市丛林（Urban Jungle）”主题贯穿于酒店的公共休憩区、主题客房及活力十足的屋顶酒吧，呈现出对文化、可持续性与柏林亚文化精神的深度回应。

The new design of the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin strikes a harmonious balance between urban lifestyle and lush nature, inspired by its unique location next to the Berlin Zoo and the green expanse of the Tiergarten. True to studio aisslinger’s signature design narrative, the concept is playful, immersive, and driven by storytelling. Aisslinger’s “Urban Jungle” reflects culture, sustainability, and Berlin’s subcultural spirit—woven throughout the hotel’s public lounges, themed rooms, and vibrant rooftop bar.

The suites

studio aisslinger对24间套房进行了全面革新，引入大胆的空间概念，为整体体验注入全新活力。每间套房将床置于空间核心，可直接饱览蒂尔加滕或西柏林的全景。开放式布局确保了空间的流动与通透。为提供静谧与私密的休憩体验，每间“大套房”均配备“Conversation Pit”木质图书胶囊空间——一个舒适的圆形阅读/放松角落，象征品牌始终坚持的“非数字化、可触感”体验理念。

studio aisslinger completely redesigned all 24 suites with a bold new spatial concept, introducing fresh impulses to the overall experience. In each suite, the bed now takes center stage in the rooms, offering uninterrupted views of either the Tiergarten or City West. Open-plan layouts ensure a seamless flow throughout each room. For moments of stillness and intimacy, each Large room includes a private wooden library capsule— the Conversation Pit –– a cozy, circular lounge retreat for reading, relaxing, and disconnecting. This analog touch reflects the brand’s enduring commitment to tactile, non-digital experiences.

开放式浴室也成为亮点之一，突破了传统私人与公共空间的界限——布局通透、充满自然光。通过整合镜面照明与新型可调节灯具，营造出温暖的光影氛围；全新瓷砖带来清新现代的感受。一个富有趣味与未来感的细节：浴缸可作为蓝牙音响使用。在与高端品牌Kaldewei的开创性合作中，酒店首次展开“浴缸回收再利用”计划——原有的浴缸与淋浴底座被技术与视觉双重升级后重新安装于改造后的客房中。

Special attention was given to the newly designed open bathrooms, which blur the traditional boundaries between private and shared space—open, fluid, and bathed in natural light. Warmtoned lighting was introduced through integrated mirror illumination and new adjustable fixtures, while updated tiles add a fresh, contemporary feel. A playful, modern touch: the bathtubs now double as Bluetooth speakers. In a pioneering collaboration with premium brand Kaldewei, the hotel launched an upcycling initiative: for the first time in the company’s history, original bathtubs and shower trays were recycled, refined both technically and visually, and reinstalled in the updated rooms.

一个全新的篇章由一系列融合舒适性、创意与柏林锋芒的空间开启。Nomad Bar通过旋转搁架，从白天的面包坊华丽转变为夜晚的开胃酒吧。Brick Lounge采用触感丰富的手工砖墙，提供稳定的共创与阅读场所。Rattan Jungle位于动物园景观一侧，结合雕塑式座椅与吊床区，沉浸于绿意中。与MOROSO联合打造的Bikini Lounge引入了可自由组合的沙发景观，满足办公、休憩与社交等多重需求。

A bold new chapter unfolds with a series of reimagined spaces that blend comfort, creativity, and Berlin edge. The Nomad Bar transforms from a daytime bakery to a lively aperitivo bar thanks to rotating shelf panels. The Brick Lounge — with its tactile, hand-laid brick walls — provides a grounded coworking and reading space. Overlooking the zoo, the Rattan Jungle offers sculptural seating and hammock zones immersed in greenery. The Bikini Lounge, developed with MOROSO, introduces a flexible sofa landscape perfect for work, relaxation, or spontaneous socializing.

Materials & furnishing

本次设计更新突出了建筑原始结构与新引入的温馨空间之间的对比与张力。所使用材料涵盖了JAB创新纺织品、天然砖材、再生软木、藤编及镜面等，它们在客房中交相映射城市与公园的景致。与MOROSO合作打造的新Bikini Lounge，以及studio aisslinger自制的独特艺术家具——如四米长的手工地毯灯具——进一步深化了酒店的沉浸式叙事美学。

The latest design interventions highlight the contrast between the building’s raw architecture and newly added cozy zones. Materials include innovative textiles by JAB, natural brick, upcycled cork, rattan, and mirrored surfaces that reflect either the city or the Tiergarten into the rooms. Collaborations — such as with MOROSO for the new coworking Bikini Lounge — and unique collectibles by studio aisslinger, like a four-meter-long kilim rug light fixture, deepen the hotel’s immersive design narrative.
