TYPOLOGY: Design/Environment Project.
LOCATION: Carrara, Italy.
YEAR: 2025.
SCOPE: Architectural design, Interior design and visualization.
This project transforms abandoned marble quarries into cultural landscapes where memory, ecology, and art intertwine. Once symbols of extraction and irreversible loss, these sites are reimagined as living stages/places that hold both the scars of the past and the potential for renewal.
Rather than erasing history, the work embraces it. The quarry becomes an active participant: its stone walls, resonant voids, and open skies shaping the experience. Through performance, spatial design, and immersive storytelling, the site is reactivated as a layered monument — at once industrial, ecological, and emotional.
By returning art to the quarry, the project reveals how places of exhaustion can become spaces of transformation, where human ambition and natural processes reconnect.
