位于上海前滩31的A Tempo Café，以“音乐共鸣场”为设计理念，结合主理人深厚的音乐背景与周边演艺氛围，将空间设计作为媒介，营造出一个兼具艺术气质与人文温度的都市第三空间。

Located in Qiantan 31, Shanghai, A Tempo Café envisions itself as a “resonant space of music.” Infused with the founder’s deep musical heritage and the cultural vibrancy of the surrounding performing arts scene, the design transforms the café into an urban sanctuary—a third place where artistry and human warmth harmoniously converge.

外立面用斜向实木格栅构建“律动门头系统”，在延续建筑横向比例秩序的基础上，营造出富有节奏感的立面动态。格栅下方辅以冲孔金属板，实现遮阳、透光与通风的功能整合，在提升整体视觉表现力的同时，有效应对西向日晒带来的室内热负荷，优化使用舒适度。

The façade employs angled solid-wood grilles to form a “rhythmic entrance system.” While continuing the building’s horizontal proportions, the design introduces a dynamic sense of rhythm to the exterior. Beneath the grilles, perforated metal panels are integrated to provide shading, filtered daylight, and natural ventilation. This not only enhances the overall visual expression but also mitigates heat gain from the west-facing sun, thereby improving indoor comfort.

空间整体以温润木质为基调，我们引入声学设计语言，通过对原建筑层高的充分利用，采用斜顶结构并全面铺设吸音板，使整体声环境更趋柔和与纯净，形成一个可沉浸、可共鸣的声音容器。内部座椅排布借鉴剧场逻辑，三排面向吧台的长椅，在功能性之上强调场所感，使每一位顾客在点单、等候与品饮的过程中，皆自然融入一场日常而诗意的“演出”。环绕式布置的音响系统，配合以乐谱架为灵感设计的点单台，为来访者带来接近音乐厅般的听觉体验。

Inside, the café is anchored in warm wood tones and enriched by an acoustic design language. By fully utilizing the building’s original height, a sloped ceiling lined with sound-absorbing panels creates a softer and purer auditory environment—a vessel for immersive resonance. Seating arrangements draw inspiration from theater layouts, with three rows of benches oriented toward the bar, emphasizing both functionality and a sense of place. Guests naturally become part of a daily yet poetic “performance” as they order, wait, and savor their drinks. Complementing this is a surround-sound system and an ordering counter inspired by the form of a music stand, delivering an auditory experience reminiscent of a concert hall.

A Tempo Café 的设计，旨在通过空间语言，将音乐的共鸣与城市的节奏交织于一体，打造一个艺术性、功能性与日常性并存的复合型咖啡空间。我们希望每一位步入其间的顾客，都能在音乐与咖啡的交汇中，获得片刻放松与灵感回响。

The design of A Tempo Café seeks to intertwine musical resonance with the rhythm of the city through the language of space, shaping a hybrid café that balances artistry, functionality, and everyday life. We hope that every guest who steps inside can find a moment of relaxation and a spark of inspiration in the encounter between music and coffee.
