座落于三亚海棠湾沿岸，毗邻椰风海韵的热带海岸线。它不仅仅是一个度假酒店，在19.5公顷的基地上还设有私人别墅，会议场所，特色餐厅，无边泳池及其他休闲娱乐设施。丰富多样的功能设施呈环形布置，围绕其中的是

一片动人心弦的中央水景——私人海洋。这座绝美的人造湖以海滩为界，与南海景致相映成趣。

This development is situated along the tropical coastline of Haitang Bay on Hainan Island. More than just a hotel, the 19.5 hectare site also accommodates privately owned villas, conference facilities, restaurants, swimming pools and other leisure amenities. 

These elements are organised around an impressive central water feature, the Private Ocean – a man-made lagoon separated from the South China Sea by the beach. 

设计之初，酒店及别墅群的桩基工程已经完成，主体大跨结构也开始动工。基于此

，我们提出了一个充分尊重现有结构和空间次序的整体规划。在本案中，公共空间的连贯性极为重要。首先一系列公共空间包括酒店主入口、门廊、落客处、接待大厅、等候区、餐厅、水疗中心等呈环形串联起来。接下来，我们又依据各功能空间的使用需求与空间层级，严谨地将这些公共空间排布在现存结构中。

The Architect was appointed after the foundation works of the hotel and villas were completed and super structure works had commenced. 

Firstly, a holistic masterplan was carried out with due care given to the existing structure and the sequencing of public spaces. 

The procession through the public spaces was of paramount importance and was curated right from the entrance through to the porte-cochere, receiving pavilions, arrival court, receptions, lounges, restaurants, spas etc. These public spaces were then scrupulously carved out from the existing structure after carefully considering its function and hierarchy.

清晰的规划思路塑造出激动人心的到访体验：宾客初入酒店，经由蜿蜒幽深，绿意盎然的车道引领至高达12.5米的大堂落客区，紧接着宾客将步行穿过宏伟的16m通高的接待大厅，最终抵达青竹林立，海天一色的无边水池。

This resulted in a charming meandering drive from the entrance arched over by raintrees before arriving at a 12.5m high porte-cochere, eventually leading users to a dramatic 16m high arrival court fronted by a reflecting pool with 12m tall bamboos framing picturesque of the ocean front.

Throughout the project, SCDA’s design explores different ways of linking the Ocean with the architecture. In front of the hotel building’s lobby, the Ocean Promenade steps up from the shore in a series of curved terraces, following the site’s topography, and creating a green amphitheatre. 

尽管现存的结构很大地限制了酒店立面设计的灵活性，设计团队对于立面设计的合理性与美观性的探索却未曾止步。在酒店的西立面，场所的公共与私密性作为立面手法的指导原则。铝制格栅为私人空间提供必要的私密性，开敞的金属护栏与景观花池则布置于公共走廊。而在面朝大海的酒店东立面，轻盈与通透是设计的关键，基于此，造型轻盈的木纹铝板搭配玻璃护栏，成为贯穿7座塔楼海景视角的主要立面语言。

Despite having to design the architectural façade over the existing structure, the façade was more than just a skin on the building for aesthetics purpose. For the rear façade, aluminum screens were introduced only at corridors where privacy was a severe issue. Planters were preferred along other corridors integrated with steel railings. For the ocean front façade, light frames were used as the main articulation for each of the 7 blocks. A well-detailed glass balcony railing couple with privacy screens complete the façade.

酒店地处热带气候地区，湿热的气候条件既带来了机遇又提出了挑战。为了适应常年的高温多雨，酒店大部分的公共空间和走廊都采用了自然通风。同时为了应对三亚的季节性台风，裙房外立面上设置了一层复合木板制作而成的防风格栅，用以减轻台风对建筑造成的破坏。

Taking advantage of the tropical climatic conditions of Sanya, most public spaces and corridors are naturally ventilated. However, this brings about a different set of challenge as Sanya is affected by typhoon seasonally and this will pose difficulties to hotel. As a result, composite timber typhoon screens were introduced at the podium. The screen forms part of the rear facade and provides protection during adverse weather.

度假别墅群分列两排布置在梯田状的地形之上，以保证高低区的别墅同时拥有海景视野。别墅的布置依照地形的自然弧度，创造出错落有致的层次感。同时，别墅的公共区域与私人区域在剖面关系上的高低分层，也保证了每座别墅在纵享全方位海景的同时具有充分的私密性。

The villas had to be arranged carefully in two rows and nestled into the terraced terrain in order for each villa to have a picturesque of the ocean front. This arrangement and the use of the existing site conditions created an interesting terracing relationship between the two rows of villas; the layering between the public and private domains through a sectional change in levels ensures privacy of individual villas while maintaining the panoramic views of each villa.

在整体酒店的布局中点缀有多样的小型功能空间，比如私人别墅和户外餐饮区。这些小型空间多围绕私人海滩布置亦或直接建造于海上；随处可见的观景平台和私人泳池，模糊了室内和室外空间的界限，营造出宜人的度假氛围。

Smaller programmatic elements, such as the private villas and F&B outlets, are placed along a private beach, or hang directly above the Ocean’s waters; elsewhere, timber decks and private pools create a more gradual 

transition between indoors and outdoors.
