ENG - Living was established in May of 2003, inside of the Ex Postal Office characterized by a privileged view on the splendid scenery of the Arco della Pace. There was a desire to create a place alive both inside and outside, where the relaxing comfortable environment could cohabit with the vitality of a dynamic space, where sophistication and charm of typical Milanese style would blend into conviviality and natural Argentinean spontaneity of the owners.

The recent restyling gave new vitality to the ambience maintaining the internal distribution which includes the bar counter as the protagonist of the place which works as a joint between two areas of the restaurant. To emphasize this crucial point, it was decided to replace the old coating with stripes of Nero Marquina marble cut in diamond-shaped section. The same material was used for tabletops and coverings of bathrooms where the tiles of different height and width create a geometrical pattern.

The chairs of enclosed forms rest on tapered hardwood legs, upholstered with cotton fabric of green shade by Dedar, summarizing by itself the formal elegance and comfort of the whole restyling. The environment is completed and characterized by walls which encase two rooms, decorated by paneling of painted wood, and frame large seats of retro shapes which are embellished with a hand-woven handicraft silk with oriental motifs.

ITA - Living nasce nel maggio 2003, all’interno dell’Ex Ufficio Postale caratterizzato da un affaccio privilegiato sullo splendido scenario dell'Arco della Pace. Da qui la volontà di creare un locale vivo all’interno come all’esterno, nel quale possano convivere il relax di un ambiente confortevole e la vitalità di uno spazio dinamico, dove la raffinatezza e lo charme tipici dello stile milanese si mescolano alla convivialità e alla spontaneità tipicamente argentina dei proprietari.

Il recente restyling ha dato nuova vitalità agli ambienti, mantenendo inalterato l’impianto distributivo che vede il banco bar protagonista del locale, con funzione di cerniera, tra le due sale dedicate a ristorante. Per sottolinearne questa importanza si è deciso di sostituire il vecchio rivestimento con listelli di marmo Nero Marquina a sezione diamantata, lo stesso materiale viene utilizzato per i piani dei tavoli e per i rivestimenti dei bagni, dove il marmo viene posato in lastre di larghezze e altezze variabili a creare un pattern geometrico.

Le sedie dalle forme avvolgenti poggiano su affusolate gambe in massello, rivestite in tela fiammata in cotone della ditta Dedar nei colori delle nuance dei verdi, riassumo in sé l’eleganza formale e il confort del restyling generale. Completano e caratterizzano l’ambiente le pareti che fanno da testata alle due sale, decorate da boiserie in legno tinteggiato incorniciano ampie sedute dalle linee retrò impreziosite da un rivestimento in seta dai motivi orientali, tessuto a mano su telai artigianali.
