LOV 餐厅

Since LOV restaurant, a concept imagined by Dominic Bujold, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, designers Jean-Pierre Viau and Jacinthe Piotte wanted to create a decor that would evolve throughout the day, starting on a fresh note and becoming cozier at night. They had to reflect in the environment the values of the plant based menu itself: local, natural and conscious.

Therefore, they picked as much local, recycled or handmade materials and accessories as possible, crafting many objects themselves. They strived to keep most of the space’s original elements, while creating a unique environment true to the business’ core values. However, since the restaurant is located in a heritage building, they faced several surprises when renovating the space, but tried to keep it as authentic as possible, highlighting its imperfections and bringing out its beauty.

The result is a luminous environment that incorporates a lot of natural and noble materials to create a cozy atmosphere. Among the features: local, handmade tableware, textile artwork by a Montreal artist, antique and almost untouched windows, as well as a more laidback section featuring suspended rattan chairs, typewriters, terrariums and books for a homey feeling.
