Designed by Niall McLaughlin Architects, the library is located in the city center of Cambridge and serves as a 24-hour study space for students at this 700-year-old university college, along with an archive and art gallery.

It features a very simple arrangement of brick volumes, echoing the typical gable-style architecture of the earlier college buildings.

室内由一系列连通的房间组成，内设书架、阅览桌和长廊。

The interior consists of a series of interconnected rooms, equipped with bookshelves, reading desks, and a long corridor.These spaces range from single to triple heights, extending upward to a long corridor that overlooks the lawn and water features.

The design aims to view all key elements as interwoven elements. The roof skylight, columns, bookshelves, light barriers, windows, desks, and railings form a continuous longitude and latitude that runs through the entire space.

The roof cleverly features a layer of lighting structure, providing uniform brightness for the main reading room and balancing side and ceiling lighting to reduce glare.

The arrangement of light barriers allows very little direct light to penetrate into the room, but gives the space more lively and dynamic light.

This combination of tranquility and vitality endows the space with unique characteristics
