PARADISE NETWORK

The project aims at offering the Campus Cittadella Politecnica a new front towards the city through the design of three new squares. The project focuses on the residual spaces created around the OGR wall, an element that now delimits the Citadel and once surrounded the old industrial facility. The three squares have been designed in accordance with Michelangelo Pistoletto’s idea of the Third Paradise: each has been given one of the three vocations of Natural Paradise, Artificial Paradise and Third Paradise.

The First Paradise, the natural one, will provide greater usability and permeability to a small neighbourhood garden characterised by the presence of large trees and natural elements. The Second Paradise, the artificial one, will be placed between the OGR multifunctional centre and the former Westinghouse building, currently abandoned, with the intention of recounting the area’s old industrial vocation. The Third Paradise, born from the first two and symbol of rebirth and the creation of a new planetary civilisation, will be built at the entrance to the Cittadella, a new high-quality urban space that will welcome the students of the Politecnico.
