在 2025 摩登上海家具展中，Studio Xin 受邀为高端家具制造品牌 XUE 设计展厅，主题为「竹生万物」，探讨自然材料与当代工艺之间的共生关系。

XUE

 是一家备受尊敬的家具制造商，拥有完整先进的数控加工系统与专业生产团队，擅长高质量实木产品的精密制造。合作品牌包括 HAY、&Tradition、Norman、Gubi 等多个国际设计品牌。

此次展厅设计是一次从制造逻辑向美学精神的延展。Studio Xin 以“竹”为灵感原点，借其生长姿态与文化意涵，构建出一个静谧而有力的叙事空间。

At the 2025 Modern Shanghai Furniture Fair, Studio Xin was invited to design the exhibition space for renowned furniture manufacturer XUE, under the theme “Born of Bamboo”, exploring the symbiotic relationship between natural materials and contemporary craftsmanship. XUE is a highly respected furniture maker, equipped with a complete and advanced CNC processing system and a professional production team. Specializing in high-quality solid wood manufacturing, the company collaborates with international design brands such as HAY, &Tradition, Norman, and Gubi. This exhibition space represents a shift from manufacturing logic to aesthetic expression. Drawing inspiration from the growth and cultural symbolism of bamboo, Studio Xin has crafted a tranquil yet powerful narrative environment.

材料

Material 

竹子是一种非常环保的材料，生长周期短，更新速度快，能够有效减少森林砍伐压力。它不仅具备优异的机械性能和结构稳定性，还因其天然纹理和温润触感，成为家具与空间设计中理想的材料选择。

本次展览所呈现的产品与空间装饰，核心材料均围绕竹展开，涵盖竹纤维板、竹单板、实竹、竹多层板等多种材料。通过这些材料的运用，项目深入探索了竹材在当代家具与空间设计中作为一种可持续且富有表现力的媒介所展现出的适应性与可能性。

Bamboo is an exceptionally eco-friendly material, with a short growth cycle and rapid renewal rate, which effectively reduces pressure on forest resources. It not only possesses excellent mechanical properties and structural stability but also, with its natural texture and warm touch, has become an ideal material choice for furniture and spatial design. The products and spatial decorations presented in this exhibition revolve around bamboo as the core material, including bamboo fiber board, bamboo veneer, solid bamboo, and multi-layer bamboo panels. Through the use of these materials, the project deeply explores the adaptability and potential of bamboo as a sustainable and expressive medium in contemporary furniture and spatial design.

Sketch 

草图过程帮助我们直观理解空间关系，并在有限条件下反复校准结构与视觉的平衡。在确保结构与功能合理的前提下，力求呈现简洁、通透、有质感的空间氛围，同时突出材料特性与展品焦点。

The sketching process allowed us to intuitively understand spatial relationships while repeatedly adjusting the balance between structure and visual lightness within limited conditions. With structural integrity and functional clarity as a foundation, we aimed to create a space that is simple, airy, and textured, while also highlighting material qualities and the key features of the exhibits.

空间布置

Spatial Layout

本次展厅的动线设计以展厅左侧的两个大门作为主要出入口，整体动线遵循“自然流动”的原则，结合展品的逻辑顺序与空间节奏，科学引导观众完成一场顺畅、完整的观展体验。展厅整体布局清晰明确，空间分为左右两侧的展示区域与中部的洽谈交流区，三者在功能上彼此独立又在视觉与动线上保持连贯，确保观展过程层次分明、动静有别。

为进一步优化结构的稳定性，我们在空间顶部设计了穿插式结构系统，使左右两侧展示墙体实现了更稳固的支撑。同时，该结构在材料选择上呼应了展厅主题，统一采用XUE品牌的竹纤维板材，不仅契合展览对可持续材料的关注，也在细节中强化了品牌识别度。入口区域设置了大面积的玻璃窗，增强了空间的通透性，使观众在进入展厅前便能隐约感知室内布局与氛围，提升了整体的开放感与吸引力。动线清晰、路径明确，既保障了展览内容的完整呈现，也尊重了观众自由选择的主动性。

The circulation design of this exhibition hall takes the two large doors on the left side as the main entrances and exits. The overall flow follows the principle of “natural movement,” combining the logical sequence of exhibits with the spatial rhythm to scientifically guide visitors through a smooth and complete viewing experience. The hall’s layout is clear and well-defined, with display areas on the left and right sides and a central area designated for discussion and交流. These three zones are functionally independent yet visually and spatially connected, ensuring a layered and dynamic visitor experience.

To further enhance structural stability, an interlaced structural system was designed at the top of the space, providing solid support for the display walls on both sides. This structure also echoes the exhibition’s theme through the choice of materials, uniformly using XUE’s bamboo fiber boards, which not only align with the exhibition’s focus on sustainable materials but also reinforce brand recognition in the details. The entrance area features large glass windows, increasing spatial transparency and allowing visitors to get a glimpse of the interior layout and atmosphere before entering. This enhances the overall openness and appeal. The circulation is clear and paths well-defined, ensuring the complete presentation of the exhibition content while respecting visitors’ autonomy in exploring the space.

草模制作

手工草模制作有助于快速验证设计构思，直观呈现空间关系与结构比例，在动手过程中不断发现问题、调整方案，是连接二维图纸与三维空间想象的重要中介。

Handmade sketch models help quickly validate design concepts, offering a direct understanding of spatial relationships and structural proportions. The hands-on process allows for continuous problem discovery and refinement, serving as an essential bridge between two-dimensional drawings and three-dimensional spatial imagination.

空间营造

Spatial Experience

展厅整体空间以简洁有力的结构语言呈现，强调材质、光线与体块之间的关系。不同区域在节奏与尺度上有所变化，营造出开放与聚焦并存的参观节奏。图中展示的是项目中的关键空间节点与视觉氛围，呈现出从整体布局到细节构造的完整思考。

The overall exhibition space is expressed through a clear and strong structural language, emphasizing the interplay between materials, light, and volumes. Variations in rhythm and scale across different areas create a viewing experience that balances openness with focus. The images highlight key spatial moments and visual atmospheres within the project, reflecting a comprehensive design approach from overall layout to detailed construction.

Studio Xin 是由辛华琛创立于上海的设计工作室，他毕业于英国皇家艺术学院，主修产品设计。工作室的设计涵盖家具、灯具、家居饰品及室内空间等多个领域。通过寻找功能和情感的平衡，他的作品引导人们，用一种既直觉又新鲜的角度，重新看待日常物件。让设计在熟悉与深刻之间，悄然建立起共鸣。

Studio Xin is a Shanghai-based design studio founded by Huachen Xin, who graduated from the Royal College of Art. His work spans from furniture, lighting, home accessories, and interior design. By balancing functionality with emotional resonance, Huachen’s work invites users to engage with everyday objects in unexpected yet intuitive ways, where thoughtful design bridges the familiar and the profound.
