The jury recognizes the Yanlord atrium for its poetic sculptural qualities, offering a playful answer to a dilemma of sufficient conditions for social interaction and space for vegetation and water in a limited space. White semi-transparent platforms ascend from a lush planting like mist, where one can imagine floating above the garden or experience a sense of lightness. The abstract cloud-staircase also offers a social platform, connecting three floors and inviting neighbours to meet »in the air.

Yanlord Arcadia embodies the "Garden within Gardens" philosophy, creating thematic landscapes where residents experience a harmonious dialogue between nature and community as they stroll through the ever-changing scenery. At the heart of the composition lies Lacy Steps Garden, the welcoming prelude that artfully connects the main lobby, residential blocks, and club facilities. This arrival space demonstrates the project's nuanced approach to multifunctional design - serving simultaneously as circulation hub, social condenser, and transitional threshold. Its carefully calibrated balance preserves the overall garden's visual unity while embedding opportunities for spontaneous encounters, creating what residents describe as "a sanctuary within steps of home." 

云阶光庭作为九米深的下沉庭院，通过雕塑般的三层阶梯系统精妙融合空间连通性、视觉协调性与多功能性，既引导着直觉式的行进动线，又营造出层次丰富的沉浸式景观体验。超越传统过渡空间的定义，它作为建筑锚点以其造型语言重塑垂直维度的空间感知，维系跨楼层的视觉关联，构筑出兼具活力与静谧的社区核心。中央平台更突破基础功能局限，化身承载多元活动的舞台

Lacy Steps, the nine-meter sunken courtyard, masterfully integrates spatial connectivity, visual harmony, and multifunctional design through its sculptural three-level staircase that intuitively guides movement while creating an immersive, layered landscape experience. More than a transitional zone, it serves as the architectural anchor—its sculptural form actively shapes vertical spatial perception, maintaining visual connections across floors to foster a dynamic yet serene communal hub. The central platform transcends mere functionality as a versatile stage for diverse activities, from quiet reading to social gatherings, seamlessly blending public and private engagement through its structurally expressive design that echoes the surrounding architecture, achieving perfect unity of form and purpose.

光影与材质的生态交响诗

This elegantly flowing geometric masterpiece embodies the perfect marriage of aesthetic sensibility and functional pragmatism. To minimize light obstruction while allowing rainwater to nourish the vegetation below, we've employed a delicate metal mesh that filters sunlight deep into the courtyard's heart, sustaining the thriving plants beneath. The material's inherent lightness imbues the entire structure with a sense of ethereal transparency.

——面对形式多变、构造复杂的设计挑战，团队引入模块化策略，将原本繁复的形体分解为可控的单元组件，既提高了建造效率，也确保了施工精度。将看似繁复的造型逻辑化、系统化，在“化繁为简”中寻求效率与美感的双重平衡。

结构经过严密计算与反复推敲，不仅满足力学需求，同时服务于整体空间语言的表达。支撑系统不再是隐蔽的技术背景，而以清晰有序的方式参与空间构成，成为界定场所氛围的重要元素。力与美，在此交汇为一种理性的设计表达。

In response to the challenges posed by a highly complex and variable form, the design team adopted a modular strategy, breaking down the intricate geometry into manageable, standardized components. This approach not only improved construction efficiency and precision but also brought clarity and logic to the overall form, achieving a balance between efficiency and aesthetics through a process of simplification.

Each structural element was meticulously calculated and refined—not only to meet engineering requirements, but also to contribute to the spatial language of the design. The supporting system is no longer a hidden technical backdrop; instead, it plays an active role in shaping the space with clarity and rhythm. Here, structure and beauty converge in a rational yet expressive design.

自然与人文的共生之道

雨水化作生命之源，阳光蜕变为舞台光影，承重要件升华为美学符号。金属网格表皮随着日光流转而呼吸，投下变幻莫测的光影轨迹，令庭院宛若一座轻盈日晷；其精妙的穿孔设计更营造出柔和的光斑效果，恍若林间疏落的叶隙天光。

This is design alchemy at its finest: where rainwater becomes lifeblood, sunlight transforms into performance lighting, and load-bearing requirements evolve into aesthetic signatures. The metal mesh skin breathes with the changing daylight, casting ever-shifting shadow patterns that animate the courtyard like a lighting sundial, while its perforations create a gentle dappling effect reminiscent of sunlight filtering through forest canopies. Here, 

human artistry and botanical vitality find perfect equilibrium.

Every component, from the gently curved staircases to the strategic placement of openings and materials, has been meticulously calibrated to serve both beauty and purpose. This elegant, fluid geometric composition is not only an architectural statement but also a lived experience

 not only a cherished space for daily life, but also a resonant voice on the global stage.

The winners of the 10th LILA-Landezine International Landscape Award (2025) have been announced. According to official data, this year's competition received 365 entries globally, with 33 projects shortlisted. Among them, 15 projects stood out, including 6 winners of the LILA 2025 Jury Award and 9 receiving Special Mentions.

Notably, TROP: terrains + open space's project "Yanlord Arcadia-Lacy Steps" (Shanghai, China) was the only Chinese project to win a 2025 LILA Jury Award.
