Russell Investments Offices by Space Matrix

Space Matrix designed the Russell Investments offices in Mumbai to blend a global identity with local context, creating a vibrant workplace that resonates with its surroundings and cultural heritage.

For Russell Investments, expanding into Mumbai was a strategic move to future-proof operations and strengthen global delivery. But the vision was never to create just another operations office. The goal was to design a workplace that carried a global identity while embracing local context.

Located on the edge of the lush Aarey forest, the design naturally drew from its surroundings. Earthy terracotta, handwoven textures, and natural stone echo the tones of the forest. Step seating inspired by Indian ghats transformed corridors into casual gathering points, creating a sense of cultural connection.

To balance this local narrative with global brand identity, the design integrated purposeful color psychology: deep blues for trust, warm ochres for energy, and greens for growth and sustainability.

The result is a workplace that feels both globally aligned and locally resonant. It tells employees: you are part of Russell’s global mission, but your identity in India is equally valued. This blend has become a powerful differentiator in attracting talent and energizing teams, positioning the Mumbai office as a cornerstone of Russell Investments’ APAC presence.
