A HOME IS A LESSON IN ARCHITECTURE
家是一堂浓缩的建筑课
渐渐地,空间体验的记忆生长为一种创作欲望,这些散落的拼图,在这栋房子里找到了归处。
Gradually, the memories of spatial experiences have grown into a creative desire, and these scattered puzzle pieces have found their place in this house.
加州传统的别墅形态是地中海风格的白墙红瓦,现代简洁手法的强烈对比成为一种风尚。
他买下的这栋毛坯别墅正是典型的地中海建筑,厚重的土黄色外墙,红陶瓦铺就的坡屋顶,改造前第一时间便想到了这种“LA style”的冲突手法。
The traditional villa form in California features the white walls and red tiles of Mediterranean style, and the strong contrast with modern concise techniques has become a fashion.The rough villa he bought is a typical Mediterranean building, with thick earth-yellow exterior walls and a sloped roof covered with red terracotta tiles. Before the renovation, he immediately thought of this "LA style" conflicting technique.
王泉给自己的家取名“叠舍The MIXHouse”,他想致敬所有喜欢的建筑大师,丝毫不在意外界是否认为他在炫技,房子就是他的“玩具”,他说这辈子可能也就玩这一回,过瘾就行,“这个房子至少有10种以上的主义,15个以上的建筑大师的痕迹”,朋友们打趣说他的家是“建筑史浓缩教程”。
Wang Quan named his home "Die She (The MIXHouse)". He wants to pay tribute to all the architectural masters he admires, and doesn't care at all if the outside world thinks he's showing off his skills. The house is his "toy". He said that he might only get to play with it once in his life, and as long as it's enjoyable, that's enough. "This house has at least more than 10 architectural doctrines and traces of more than 15 architectural masters." His friends jokingly say that his home is a "condensed textbook of architectural history".
“年复一年,处处都在缓慢地发生变化,我把想象注入其间,有些简单,有些复杂,为不同的角落晕染出不同的气氛与格调。当我渴望孤独,即知侧身何处;朋友欢聚一堂,也知移步何方。一个意想不到的乐趣,就是把人们带到各处,去观察他们的反应,从错愕到惊奇,直到满足之情溢于言表,情不自禁地赞叹道:‘这座花园真是太美了!’”这是巴瓦在书中所写。
"Year after year, changes are slowly happening everywhere. I inject my imagination into it, some simple, some complex, creating different atmospheres and styles in different corners. When I desire solitude, I know where to turn; when friends gather, I know where to go. An unexpected pleasure is taking people around and observing their reactions, from astonishment to surprise, until their satisfaction is evident and they can't help but exclaim: 'This garden is truly beautiful!'" This is what Bawa wrote in his book.
建筑的外观在原来西班牙风格立面上“MIX”而成,根据内部功能长出了几个凹凸不均的金属盒子,太空感的钛锌板材质与传统的粗粝灰泥形成强烈的视觉对比。
The exterior of the building is "mixed" on the original Spanish-style facade, with several uneven metal boxes extending according to the internal functions. The space-age titanium-zinc panel material forms a strong visual contrast with the traditional rough plaster.

SKILLS ARE POWERLESS IN THE FACE OF LIFE
技巧在生活面前完全无力
一张老榆木拼成的桌子是时间与手艺的对话,阳光穿过金属孔缝照进室内,粗糙的墙面与壁炉,西班牙乡村的生活是王泉觉得最为惬意的。温顺的猫咪爬上桌子,在这个平静的午后,它们有着很大的自由度。
A table made of old elm wood pieces is a dialogue between time and craftsmanship. Sunlight shines into the room through metal holes. With rough walls and a fireplace, the rural life in Spain is what Wang Quan finds most pleasant.
Docile cats climb onto the table, and on this peaceful afternoon, they have a great deal of freedom.
特别的构造、色彩与材质,美是否有某种形式?这一切恰恰来自对“完美形式”的放弃,当一切都褪去理论的外衣,只剩下阳光、慵懒在空气中缓缓沉浮。
Special structures, colors, and materials – does beauty have a certain form? All of this precisely comes from the abandonment of the "perfect form". When everything fades away from the cloak of theory, only sunlight and laziness remain, slowly floating in the air.
垭口处的木雕来自于多年前的收藏,被时间逐渐包浆;室外双层幕墙的金属格栅,将白昼最猛烈的光幻化得愈发温柔;一百年前意大利马鞍皮的椅子,逐渐硬朗光润,保持着现代家具伊始时的干净利落;
The wood carving at the垭口 is from a collection many years ago, gradually patinated by time; the metal grilles of the outdoor double curtain wall transform the fiercest light of the day into something more gentle; the Italian saddle leather chair from a hundred years ago has gradually become hard and smooth, maintaining the neatness of modern furniture at its inception;
白色的空间适合解决年轻人的生活,可以是青春洋溢、时尚现代的,设计作为媒介手段,最后都是要解决生活。
A white space is suitable for addressing the lives of young people—it can be vibrant, fashionable, and modern. Design, as a medium, ultimately serves to solve the problems of life.
深感于杰弗里·巴瓦的松弛感和生长性,起居厅以老式窄小窗口作为局部光源,制造光影的聚焦效果,让人感受潜藏的情感张力,光线从明到暗自然过渡,带来了平静舒适的氛围。
铁艺栏杆、木雕、石块、从地中海元素到现代主义极简线条、空间被笼罩在宁静的氛围中。
地面采用老式人工红砖,表面再加现代处理;突出的球形与古朴的砖石“真假”壁炉相嵌,地面散落的石块是致敬赖特的流水别墅;墙面挂着一张从印度背回来的手工地毯……
Deeply influenced by Geoffrey Bawa's sense of relaxation and growth, the living room uses old small windows as local light sources to create a focusing effect of light and shadow, making people feel the hidden emotional tension. The light transitions naturally from bright to dark, bringing a calm and comfortable atmosphere.
Wrought iron railings, wood carvings, stones, from Mediterranean elements to modernist minimalist lines, the space is enveloped in a quiet atmosphere.
The floor uses old artificial red bricks with a modern treatment on the surface; the protruding spherical shape is embedded with the ancient brick "real and fake" fireplaces; the stones scattered on the ground are a tribute to Wright's Fallingwater; a hand-woven carpet brought back from India hangs on the wall...
当你还沉浸在地中海式的乡土感中时,瞥见楼梯的冲突手法,便是王泉又一处肆意手笔。将康定斯基作品中的点、线、面运用在楼梯的扶手上,视线向上,属于室外的钛锌板延伸至室内,二层楼梯间王泉戏称为“列车车厢",藏着他顽皮的建筑游戏。
When you are still immersed in the Mediterranean rural feeling, catching a glimpse of the conflicting technique of the staircase is another arbitrary touch of Wang Quan. The points, lines, and planes from Kandinsky's works are applied to the handrails of the staircase. Looking upward, the titanium-zinc panels belonging to the exterior extend into the interior. Wang Quan jokingly calls the staircase on the second floor a "train carriage", which hides his playful architectural games.
美在生活的细腻之处,物品中、静物画中、雕塑中,人在其中的感受是发自内心的,在每个转角都有独特的趣味,脑海中总是很难将它完整概括。这些片段难以被风格归

以后,家日复一日沉淀着人的痕迹,一直在生长,永远在变异,在下一个转角预备着惊喜。
Beauty lies in the delicate aspects of life, in objects, still lifes, and sculptures. People's feelings in it are from the heart. There is a unique interest at every corner, and it is always difficult to fully summarize it in the mind.These fragments are difficult to be categorized by style, but they form the most vivid spatial narrative, producing wonderful chemical reactions. After living here for more than a year, the home precipitates the traces of people day by day, always growing, always changing, and preparing surprises at the next corner.

BEDROOMS WITH DISTINCT DIFFERENCES
迥异的卧室
主卧区是按照美式双主卧设计的,中间衣帽间和水吧区,为两侧卧室提供便利。
The master bedroom area is designed according to the American-style double master bedroom, with a cloakroom and a water bar in the middle to provide convenience for the bedrooms on both sides.
向内一侧是他自己的卧室,典型的西班牙式建筑的弧线与窗户,略带肌理感的纯白墙面酝酿出一种简素之美。
The inner side is his own bedroom, with the typical curves and windows of Spanish-style architecture, and the pure white walls with a slight texture brew a kind of simple beauty.
在日常实用功能的设计上,王泉重新演绎了一把柯布西耶在拉图雷特修道院的"功能单元"理念:定制的洗手盆靠近床边,与写字台相连,台盆抬高以适配久不宜躬弯的腰疾,较宽的台面确保水不会飞溅出来,半夜或早晨洗漱都更加便利,淋浴区的椭圆空间根据人体工学既满足了洗浴时的活动尺度,又省去了空间死角。
In the design of daily practical functions, Wang Quan reinterprets Le Corbusier's concept of "functional unit" in the La Tourette Monastery: the custom washbasin is close to the bed and connected to the writing desk. The basin is raised to adapt to the long-term waist disease that makes it difficult to bend. The wider countertop ensures that water will not splash out, making it more convenient to wash at midnight or in the morning. The elliptical space of the shower area, based on ergonomics, not only meets the activity scale during bathing but also eliminates the dead corners of the space.
女儿的卧室致敬“白色派”建筑大师迈耶,迈耶说:“白色被看作纯粹、洁净和完美的象征,白色一直保持着这种绝对性。而且只有白色时,从来不会纯粹就是白色,几乎总有一些被光和天空中的各种变化,如云、太阳、月亮所改变着的颜色。白色总存在但从不相同,白天明亮而晃动,在满月下皎洁而令人愉快。白色是光,是理解和变换力量的载体,白色或许是色彩的记忆和期待。”
The design of the daughter's bedroom pays tribute to Richard Meier, the master of the "White School" of architecture. Meier once said, "White is seen as a symbol of purity, cleanliness, and perfection, and it has always maintained this absoluteness. Moreover, when there is only white, it is never purely white; there are almost always colors altered by light and various changes in the sky, such as clouds, the sun, and the moon. White always exists but is never the same—bright and shimmering during the day, bright and pleasant under a full moon. White is light, a carrier of the power of understanding and transformation; white is perhaps the memory and expectation of color."

UNDERGROUND SPACE
地下空间
MIXHouse有着巨大的地下空间,如果不是主人带着你游览,甚至有迷路的风险。他将工作室与聚会厅完全放置于地下,通过有效的采光与通风设计,让照度和空气都十分舒适宜人,甚至比地上更加冬暖夏凉,每一个部分都有独立的卧室和餐饮空间,对外也有独立门厅和出入口。外地朋友来北京,借助王泉家时,就像是独立的房子,互不干扰却叠加在一起,王泉戏称“三宅一身”。
The MIXHouse boasts a vast underground space, and without the owner guiding you through it, there’s even a risk of getting lost. He placed the studio and party hall entirely underground, and through effective lighting and ventilation design, the illumination and air quality are very comfortable—even more so than the above-ground areas, with better insulation against both cold and heat. Each section has its own independent bedroom and dining space, as well as separate entrances and foyers for external access. When friends from out of town visit Beijing and stay at Wang Quan’s place, it feels like separate houses, overlapping yet non-intrusive. Wang Quan jokingly calls this arrangement "San Zhai Yi Shen" (Three Houses in One).
以艺术创作为主题的工作室空间,顶光水池的光线漫射下来,有一种沉浸的光动体感。设计手法从柯布西耶的立体主义,到安藤忠雄的清水墙面,动人的场景永远诞生在主义与生活的交界地带。
以Party为主要功能的聚会厅,有着挑高的长厅、20米长的展廊墙面、独立的餐厨区、LED大屏幕。在致敬库哈斯和努维尔的同时,表现富有梦幻趣味的金属感和未来感。
The studio space, themed around artistic creation, features light diffusing through a skylit pool, creating an immersive sense of light and movement. Its design draws from Le Corbusier’s cubism to Tadao Ando’s exposed concrete walls. Compelling scenes always emerge at the intersection of architectural doctrines and life.The party hall, primarily designed for gatherings, includes a high-ceilinged long hall, a 20-meter-long gallery wall, an independent dining area, and an LED screen. While paying tribute to Rem Koolhaas and Jean Nouvel, it exudes a playful, futuristic metallic vibe.
除了三套独立动线的功能空间外,地下的中心交汇处还有丰富的娱乐设施,包括有健身房、KTV、影院、台球、桑拿、画廊等等。令人意外的设计手法是,这部分配套娱乐可以分别对三个动线每个独立开放而屏蔽另外两个的使用介入。这种交错的分合设计,把空间组合玩弄于股掌。
In addition to the three functional spaces with independent circulation paths, the central underground hub features a range of entertainment facilities, including a gym, KTV, cinema, billiards room, sauna, and gallery. Surprisingly, these entertainment amenities can be opened independently to each of the three circulation paths while blocking access from the other two. This interleaved design of separation and integration demonstrates masterful control over spatial combinations.
王泉的自宅像是生活的即兴演出,专业与生活、记忆与未来、主义与烟火气在空间中达成微妙平衡,在这个舞台上,混凝土、钢铁、木材、砖块都有自己的故事,所有对大师的致敬,最终都回归到对生活的致敬;所有关于建筑的思考,都在自我感知的追问中延续,日复一日真实的三餐是它真正的温度。
Wang Quan’s home is like an impromptu performance of life, where professionalism and daily living, memory and future, architectural doctrines and the warmth of everyday life strike a delicate balance. On this stage, concrete, steel, wood, and bricks each have their own stories. All tributes to masters ultimately return to a tribute to life; all reflections on architecture continue in the questioning of self-perception, with the real daily meals serving as its true warmth.
斯里兰卡建筑师巴瓦的慵懒美学在北京炽烈的阳光下舒展开来,从犹太建筑师里伯斯金的解构体块到墨西哥建筑师巴拉干明晃晃的色彩,从柯布西耶的功能主义到赖特的自然隐喻,各种风格交织,冲突的量体叠加,但却是一场关于“栖居”的诚实探索——随性、自由,又精准地回应着他的居住需求。
The lazy aesthetics of Sri Lankan architect Bawa unfolds under the intense sunlight of Beijing. From the deconstructed blocks of Jewish architect Libeskind to the bright colors of Mexican architect Barragán, from Le Corbusier's functionalism to Wright's natural metaphors, various styles interweave and conflicting volumes stack up. Yet, it is an honest exploration of "dwelling" – casual, free, and accurately responding to his living needs.
这些片段难以被风格归类,却构成了最鲜活的空间叙事,产生着奇妙的化学反应。在住了一年多以后,家日复一日沉淀着人的痕迹,一直在生长,永远在变异,在下一个转角预备着惊喜。

团队一直维持在30人左右,也是目前国内人员规模最大的空间摄影机构之一,10年工龄以上小伙伴3人,5年以上7人,3年以上8人,也是同行业人员最稳定的摄影机构之一,团队拥有摄影分组6组,摄影师14名,摄影助理若干。
The team has been maintained at around 30 people, making it one of the largest spatial photography institutions in China. There are 3 colleagues with over 10 years of experience, 7 with over 5 years of experience,and 8 with over 3 years of experience. It is also one of the most stable photography institutions in the same idustry. The team has 6 photography groups, 14 photographers, and several photography assistants.
「团建」
团队定期组织小伙伴进行“团建”活动,但我们从来不组织所谓增强团队凝聚力的团建,就是纯玩,让平时超强的工作节奏得以放松调节,同时工龄满5年以上的小伙伴还能享受每年一次的出国游。
The team regularly organizes "team building" activities for its members, but we never organize so-called team building activities to enhance team cohesion. It's just pure play, allowing the super strong work pace to relax and adjust. At the same time, members who have worked for more than 5 years can also enjoy an annual overseas trip.
