In the folds of Qingdao's old town, a long and narrow building grows like a lighthouse. Inspired by the traditional Japanese narrow house (Machiya), the four-story building is “stuffed” with a clothing store, an atelier, and a handicraft workshop like stacking blocks, and the design breaks the sense of crampedness through “vertical folding” and “line of sight penetration”. The rough-textured stone of the façade combined with the white light film serves as a structural reinforcing component, and also becomes a light medium for day and night mode shift - reflecting the soft light of the sea mist during daytime, and transforming into an LED light matrix at night, interpreting the public manifesto of “architecture as urban furniture”.

Windows are one of the main media connecting the inside and outside of a building project, providing light and ventilation to rooms. These features are very useful in small environments, so the size and arrangement of these openings are appropriately designed for each floor sunlight and ventilation study. Long horizontal windows introduce diffused street light to dissipate the oppressive feeling of long, narrow spaces.

冷色和浅色可以通过提供更大的宽敞感来增强室内空间的舒适感。墙面地面与摆台道具在统一色系中通过深浅形成三个视觉层次，并局部赋予玻璃面板，并在灯膜的照耀下，提升空间的通透与明亮。

Cool and light colors can enhance the comfort of the interior space by providing a greater sense of spaciousness. The wall floor and table props form three visual levels through shades in a unified color palette and are partially endowed with glass panels and illuminated by light films to enhance the translucency and brightness of the space.

在垂直方寸间构建商业与人文的共生体。当办公场景与零售动态通过视觉共谋形成闭环，在冷白金属网格包裹的容器内，锈迹、木纹、石痕与光斑共同谱写着一曲献给城市褶皱的温暖赋格。

A symbiosis of commerce and humanity is built in the vertical space. When the office scene and retail dynamics form a closed loop through visual complicity, within the container wrapped in a cold white metal grid, rust, wood grain, stone marks and light spots together compose a warm fugue dedicated to the folds of the city.
