The Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, founded in 1987, is China's only large-scale comprehensive thematic museum fully presenting the history of the Chinese people's great anti-Japanese struggle. Since its establishment, it has been dedicated to disseminating the war's history and promoting the spirit of resistance, aiming to be a national center for commemorating the war's victory and the full-scale resistance outbreak, a display hub for China's resistance and World Anti-Fascist War history, a research and collection center for related historical materials, and an international platform for showcasing the Eastern Battlefield of the World Anti-Fascist War. It conducts extensive public education, advances in-depth academic research on the war's history, and holds annual thematic exhibitions. As a National First-Class Museum and one of China's first national-level anti-Japanese memorial facilities, it is also a member of the International Association of World War II Museums, hosting the secretariats of the China Society for Studies on the History of Anti-Japanese Aggression, Beijing Peace Education Foundation, and Beijing Society for Studies on the History of Anti-Japanese Aggression. It also serves as the chair institution of the Memorial Museum Professional Committee of the Chinese Museums Association, with the committee's secretariat based here.

中国人民抗日战争纪念馆馆前是占地8,600平方米的抗日广场，中央矗立着一尊昂首雄狮雕塑，象征中华民族的觉醒。广场中轴线两侧各有七片草坪，分别寓意七七事变与中华民族十四年抗战。广场北侧的国旗杆高14米

，基座为汉白玉。展馆外墙采用乳白色大理石，锻铜大门上镶嵌着独立自由勋章图案，整体尽显肃穆庄严。馆名“中国人民抗日战争纪念馆”由邓小平于1986年7月9日亲笔题写。如今，以纪念馆为核心，结合宛平城的重新规划，卢沟桥一带已逐步成为北京市重要的文化纪念旅游区之一。

In front of the museum stands the 8,600-square-meter Anti-Japanese Aggression Square, with a lion sculpture rearing its head at the center, symbolizing the awakening of the Chinese nation. On either side of the square's central axis lie seven lawns each, representing the July 7th Incident and the 14-year-long Chinese nation's resistance against Japanese aggression. A 14-meter-tall flagpole with a white marble base stands in the northern part of the square. The museum's exterior, clad in creamy marble, and its bronze-plated gate inlaid with patterns of the Independence and Freedom Medal, exude an air of solemnity and dignity. The museum's name, "Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression," was inscribed by Deng Xiaoping in his own hand on July 9, 1986. Currently, with the museum at its core and in conjunction with the re-planning of Wanping City, the Lugou Bridge area has gradually become one of key cultural and commemorative tourist zones in Beijing.

For National Liberation and World Peace: Exhibition of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War

中国人民抗日战争纪念馆经改陈升级后，于2025年7月8日恢复对公众开放。该馆以“铭记历史、缅怀先烈、珍爱和平、开创未来”为主题，推出《为了民族解放与世界和平——纪念中国人民抗日战争暨世界反法西斯战争胜利80周年》基本陈列。此次展览面积达1.22万平方米，包含展品5,000余件，其中照片1,525张、文物3,237件/套（一级文物115件/套），新增文物与档案400余件/套。展览从多角度展现中国人民英勇抗击日本法西斯的光荣历史，全方位再现中国人民14年浴血抗战的恢弘史诗。

After renovation and upgrading, the Museum of the War of Chinese People's Resistance Against Japanese Aggression reopened to the public on July 8, 2025. Centered on the theme "Bear History in Mind, Commemorate Martyrs, Cherish Peace, and Build a Better Future", it launched the permanent exhibition For National Liberation and World Peace: Exhibition of the 80th Anniversary of the Victory of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Covering 12,200 square meters, the exhibition features over 5,000 items, including 1,525 photos and 3,237 cultural relics (115 of which are Grade-One), with more than 400 newly added artifacts and archives. It multi-dimensionally presents the glorious history of the Chinese people's heroic resistance against Japanese fascism and comprehensively recreates the epic 14-year bloody struggle in the War of Resistance.

The exhibition revisits the glorious 14-year journey of China's great resistance, transcending the smoke of history. Through images like warning beacons, the battle cries of valiant resistance, and doves of peace, it transports visitors back to the arduous, blood-and-fire-soaked reality of the war.

展厅内，大量珍贵影像资料、文物及照片均为首次亮相，多处复原的沉浸式战争场景生动再现了平型关大捷、百团大战等重要战役。展览将色彩色调与灯光变化融入实物展品和场景展示中，以静态陈列与动态演绎相结合的方式，突出互动体验、增强观众参与感，让人仿佛身临其境，深刻体会从黑暗到光明、从苦难到辉煌、从悲怆到胜利的情感递进。

The exhibition hall features a wealth of precious video materials, cultural relics and photos, many of which are on display for the first time. Multiple restored immersive war scenes vividly recreate key battles such as the Pingxingguan Victory and the Hundred Regiments Campaign. By integrating color tones and lighting changes with physical exhibits and scene displays, the exhibition combines static displays with dynamic interpretations to highlight interactivity and enhance visitors' sense of participation. This immersive experience allows the audience to deeply feel the emotional progression from darkness to light, from suffering to glory, and from sorrow to victory.
