E·salted装置丨阿联酋迪拜丨DEOND（Ross Lovegrove和Ila Colombo）

在2025年11月4日至9日举行的迪拜设计周期间，位于迪拜设计区（d3）核心地带的 DEOND——由Ross Lovegrove与Ila Colombo共同创立的设计工作室——将发布装置作品 《Exsalted》。该作品由艺术家Ila Colombo受委托创作，并由全球香氛与感官创新领域的领导品牌MANE提供支持。项目延续了DEOND对结构轻盈性与数字化建造体系的持续研究，探索几何、光线与材料制造之间的关系。DEOND成立于2023年，是一家融合前沿技术与创造性远见的跨学科实践机构。工作室致力于打造功能性、审美性与可持续性并重的环境，将先进制造、互动装置与建筑相结合，以促进人造环境与自然环境的共生与和谐。

《Exsalted》展亭由一系列连续折叠的面板构成，其灵感源自折纸艺术中令人着迷且充满愉悦的复杂性。展亭的几何形态由一套经参数化设计与机器人3D打印生成的三角模块序列推导而来。晶体般的折面如同经海风与时间雕琢的盐晶外壳，在光影流动中不断反射与折射，形成一种缓慢而变化的节奏，使整个空间被柔和而灵动的氛围所包裹。

The Exsalted pavilion is composed of a continuous surface of folded panels, inspired by the mesmerising and joyful complexity of origami. Its geometry derives from a sequence of triangulated modules developed through parametric design and robotic 3D printing. The pavilion’s prismatic surfaces unfold like crystallised shells or salt minerals shaped by sea and time: a porous landscape where reflections and refractions alternate in continuous motion, filling the space with a slow, changing rhythm that defines the atmosphere.

“Working with MANE Dubai was an opportunity to merge the sensorial and the structural. Their world of scent and essence inspired us to design a space that breathes — one that carries the same ephemeral intensity as a fragrance. There are the top notes, where form first captivates through geometry and light; the heart notes, where material and texture begin to breathe and reveal emotion; and the base notes, where structure lingers, anchoring the memory of space long after you leave it. Architecture, like scent, exists beyond the moment, it remains within us as an invisible trace.”

展亭结构采用可回收聚合物制成，其中超过98%的构件通过机器人打印完成。材料的半透明特性使光线能够层层渗透，显露出折叠与连接的逻辑。整个系统可被拆解与重复使用，从而减少材料浪费与运输影响。

The structure is made of recycled polymer, with over 98% of its elements fabricated through robotic printing. The material’s translucency allows light to pass through in layers, revealing the construction logic of the folds and joints. The entire system can be disassembled and reused, reducing waste and transportation impact.

从外部看，展亭宛若一簇闪耀的晶体，在自然光下泛出柔和的流动光泽；立面肌理随日光变化而呈现不同的色调。而在内部，空间的氛围几乎悬浮于光影之间，边界由反射与漫射所界定，而非由实体围合。

Outside, the pavilion appears as a crystalline cluster, shimmering under natural daylight. The faceted skin integrates the surrounding landscape and gradually shifts in tone through the day. Inside, the atmosphere becomes almost suspended, defined by reflection and diffusion rather than solid boundaries.

该装置由DEOND与MANE联合开发，将后者百年香氛创作的专业积淀转译为空间体验。MANE成立于1871年，总部位于法国，是全球领先的香氛与风味公司之一，以将原材料转化为唤起情感的感官组合而著称。在《Exsalted》中，MANE带来了以海盐、童年记忆与矿物景观为灵感的细腻嗅觉层次，将其关于“香气语言”的研究延伸至建筑领域。《Exsalted》呈现了一种如“矿物有机体”般的建筑姿态——精确、轻盈，并能持续对环境作出回应。该展亭将于2025年11月4日至9日在迪拜设计周期间展出，地点位于迪拜设计区（d3）4号楼室内展区。

Developed in collaboration with MANE, the installation translates the company’s century-long expertise in fragrance creation into a spatial experience. Founded in 1871 in France, MANE is one of the world’s leading fragrance and flavour houses, known for transforming raw materials into sensory compositions that connect perception and emotion. For Exsalted, MANE introduces subtle olfactory notes inspired by sea salt, childhood memories and mineral landscapes, extending its research on the language of scent into the field of architecture. Exsalted presents an architecture that behaves like a mineral organism — precise, lightweight, and constantly responsive to its environment.The pavilion will be showcased during Dubai Design Week from November 4 to 9, 2025, and will be located inside Building 4, interior unit, in the spaces of the Dubai Design District (d3).
