Following the inauguration of a boutique in Oslo little over three years ago, Dior has raised its profile even further in the Nordic region with a second outpost in Stockholm. The iconic French fashion house has secured a unit of approx. 500 sqm. (5,382 sq.ft.) spread across two levels of a landmark Art Nouveau-style building by Swedish architects Georg Hagström (1865-1918) and Frithof Ekman (1871-1941). The façade’s arches have been decorated with Dior‘s iconic cannage motif, while the interior sees an abundance of other references. Like all Dior boutiques, the interior design, created by its in-house design team in Paris, takes ample cues from the Dior flagship store on swanky avenue Montaigne in Paris. The ground floor sees a series of elegant settings which present Dior‘s elaborate women’s collections which are interspersed with carefully curated design furnishings, such as table designed by Berlin-based designer Stefan Leo and a Demi Lune console table by British designer Adam Williams, in addition to artworks by Swedish and foreign artists, including Carin Ellberg and Olivia Pettersson, and an installation in porcelain by Brazilian artist Valeria Nascimento. Classic Versailles parquet flooring ties in all the different sections. The basement is home to the men’s collection, and although featuring similar flooring, the setting is cleaner and a tad more understated, featuring metal shelving, timber wall panels, sturdy furniture, and rugs with abstract motifs. © superfuture
