TERSUS GNSS, headquartered in Shanghai, specializes in high-precision positioning, delivering centimeter-level solutions for agriculture, construction, and surveying. The brand serves a grounded community—engineers, entrepreneurs, and field practitioners.

We were commissioned to design the new headquarters where “technical certainty” meets “human energy,” showcasing expertise while making collaboration effortless.

随着团队扩张，TERSUS需要一套兼顾部门个性化场景与协同工作的空间系统——如既为研发提供安静专注区，也为销售配置独立沟通区，同时保持整体的高效与灵活

With continued growth, TERSUS requires a space system that balances individualized settings and teamwork—quiet focus areas for R&D, independent meeting areas for Sales—within an efficient, adaptable whole.

设计策略与空间布局

Design Strategy & Spatial Approach

- 以“真实工作方式”为出发点，构建既有分区又具连接性的动线和空间系统，整体设计追求“可被使用的精准美学”——技术向下扎根，空间向人敞开。

The result is a “precision-made usable” technology, grounded, space opened to people.The layout was carefully planned to support how people actually work together (and apart):

北向安静区：专注研发 - Quiet focus in the North

实验室选址北侧，以控制噪声与访客干扰，并降低直射日光带来的干扰，满足高精度测试对稳定光环境与温控的需求。

The Research & Development and Engineering labs are placed on the northern side of the office. These areas require peace, privacy, and minimal sunlight—perfect for precision work and sensitive equipment. Locating the Research & Development and Engineering labs on the north side limits noise and traffic, reduces solar gain and glare, and meets high-precision testing requirements for a peaceful, private, and stable lighting environment。

南向明亮区：销售与市场 - Energy and light in the South

销售和市场部门位于采光更好的南侧，为了避免过度阳光直射，我们在窗户和办公区之间布置了会议室和休息区，既形成缓冲，也提供灵活的会谈空间。

Sales and Marketing teams sit on the sunnier, southern side. To reduce glare and create a buffer, we placed meeting rooms and casual break areas between the open workspace and the windows—bringing light in without overwhelming the space.

东侧核心区：交汇与共享

- In-between is where it happens

空间的“心脏”位于东侧——一处大型开放式多功能区,串联所有动线（含主入口，亦为客户与合作伙伴进出的方向），成为部门自然汇聚的枢纽；可承载全天会议、午餐、工作坊与小型活动，沉淀公司文化。

At the heart of the plan, along the east side, is a large open lounge area. This is the main hub—where teams meet, eat, think, and share. Located along the main circulation axis (including the client entrance), it acts as a natural point of convergence. It can adapt to everything from quick chats and work sessions to full-scale workshops and evening events.

灵活协作：在其间发生 - Flexibility for real work

功能区之间点缀多个小型洽谈角与半开放工作区，既承接快速交流也满足个人专注，让空间在日常中自如切换、弹性运转。

Throughout the office, we included small “nooks” and informal meeting spots—perfect for quick collaboration or heads-down solo work. These in-between spaces are designed to be used organically, depending on what each moment calls for. Multiple small meeting nooks and semi-open work areas are interspersed throughout functional zones, supporting both quick exchanges and individual focus, allowing the space to switch fluidly and operate with built-in flexibility.

材料语言：精准与温度的平衡

Material Palette: Precision + Warmth

- 整体材料策略强调精准、有序的品牌精神，同时传达出人本关怀与日常尺度感。金属面板呼应科技属性，带来干净、理性的视觉印象。

The material choices strike a balance between technical rigor and human scale.

大面积使用浅色木饰面,尤其在内嵌洽谈角和墙面装饰中,增添自然与温暖的触感；混凝土波纹板引入节奏感与纹理细节；波点玻璃则在保持视觉通透的同时提供隐私保护，也呼应了公司产品中的点阵网格逻辑。玻璃砖柔化光线并提升进深采光；地面部分结合使用了清水混凝土地面和条纹地毯，前者适用于高流动区域，后者则营造安静专注的氛围。

Brushed metal panels echo the brand’s engineering backbone and bring a sleek, reflective quality to key surfaces. Light wood tones are used extensively in built-in booths and wall linings, adding warmth and a natural touch to collaborative spaces. Corrugated concrete panels provide texture and rhythm along the walls, while polka dot glass adds privacy with subtle visual depth—referencing the grid-and-dot systems used in precision mapping. Glass blocks help diffuse light into deeper areas without compromising acoustics. Raw concrete flooring reinforces a sense of grounded utility in circulation zones, while striped carpet tiles in the workstations soften acoustics and support quiet concentration.

The overall material strategy reinforces the TERSUS identity: high-performance tools for real-world users—built with care, clarity, and precision.
