Si tratta tuttavia di un'interpretazione un pò diversa dello spirito di Catania, tesa ad evidenziare le sue ombre e i suoi chiaroscuri, la sua fascinosa decadenza, piuttosto che i suoi più noti ed evidenti aspetti di solarità e vivacità mediterranea.

L'austerità dei palazzi barocchi, immersi in una costante penombra e l'atmosfera silenziosa e segreta delle strade catanesi è rievocata all'interno di questi spazi che il progetto ha volutamente mantenuto molto austeri, scuri, quasi "ecclesiali".

La struttura architettonica dell'edificio è stata integralmente conservata nella sua sequenza di ampi e nobili ambienti dotati di soffitti a volta.

Le pareti sono state uniformate cromaticamente utilizzando un tono di grigio particolarmente profondo, a cui fanno da contrappunto qui e là i tocchi decorativi dei pannelli murari e degli arredi, che riproducono le eleganti textures delle tradizionali ceramiche di Caltagirone.

However, this project interprets Catania and her spirit in a slightly different way, aiming to highlight her chiaroscuro effects, her shades, her enchanting decadence, her well-known and manifest aspect of brightness and Mediterranean liveliness.

The austerity of baroque palaces, immersed in enduring shadows  and the silent and secret atmospheres in the city streets are echoed within these rooms, whose style is purposely kept austere, dark, almost "monastic".

The architectural structure of the building is maintained as per its sequence of wide and aristocratic rooms with vaulted ceilings.

The walls were chromatically smoothed using a deep hue of grey, counterbalanced here and there by decorative finishings made of building panels and furnishings that recall the traditional Caltagirone pottery.
