This week on Dezeen, we revealed all 60 winners of the Dezeen Awards 2025, including the architecture, interiors and design projects of the year.

A children's hospital by Herzog & de Meuron was named architecture project of the year, with the Symbolplus Office and the J39.5 seating collection receiving the awards for best interior and design project of the year, respectively.

The award for sustainability project of the year was given to Hydro CIRCAL 100R by Hydro.

We also announced the Dezeen Awards 2025 Designers of the Year, while industrial designer Jo Barnard took home the Bentley Lighthouse Award 2025.

It was revealed that architecture is no longer considered a "professional degree" in the US

In the US, it was revealed that architecture will no longer be considered a professional degree under the terms of president Donald Trump's One Big Beautiful Bill.

The move, which has been criticised by the American Institute of Architects (AIA), means that loans available to architecture students in the USA will be reduced.

It was also announced that US architect Robert AM Stern had died at the age of 86. Stern was a long-term dean of Yale University and founder of the architecture studio RAMSA.

Other architecture news this week included the devastating fire at Hong Kong's Wang Fuk Court high-rise residential complex, which has been blamed on bamboo scaffolding and safety netting that were in place for ongoing renovations. Investigations into the cause and spread of the fire are ongoing.

Zaha Hadid Architects was in the spotlight after it completed a waterfront stadium and sports centre in Guangzhou and revealed its design for a Dubai skyscraper that references Emirati embroidery.
