New American House in Greenwich

Having removed a large, dark house on their gently sloped property, the European homeowners wanted a new American house that would fit the site and the community and include an extensive program for their growing family. Looking to post-Revolutionary New England for inspiration, this house presents a symmetrical, white clapboard Georgian façade and classical details.

The house is set close to the front of the property to take full advantage of the grounds behind the house as well as to shield a large, splayed wing not visible from the street, thus reducing the apparent scale of the house.
