A Jovial Family Home That Embraces Minimalism With A Nordic-Inspired Design

Boasting a harmonious concoction of light wood, pristine white and cosy furnishings, this Minimalist Scandinavian family dwelling is the epitome of functionality with a playful edge. Eschewing the bold and embracing the art of simplicity, a versatile blend of neutral colours and subtle textures evokes a sense of ease and serenity. Occasional pops of vibrant colours injects personality to the communal area, emanating a warm and inviting environment. Quirky decor pieces, fixtures and art frames highlight an artistic flair that perfectly complements the soothing palette of the home. Taking on a minimalistic approach, the master bedroom is cladded in a pristine white setting with warm lighting to create a sense of tranquillity while keeping practicality at the forefront. Introducing curved edges adds a unique touch of abstract detailing, enhancing the understated nature of the overall interior.

Interior Designer’s Thoughts

As a growing family of three, the homeowners were keen on an open-concept layout for their home and they requested a minimalist style with a Scandinavian influence. As they often host gatherings with family and friends, the spacious dining and living area serves as the main social hub of the home. Built-in cabinetry extending from the kitchen to the dining area was built to cater for additional storage and a coffee station. The interior designer suggested building a settee bench enjoined with the living room cabinets to create a seamless appearance. A neutral palette was chosen in the living room to create a sense of calmness, which blends perfectly with the unblocked views of the surrounding nature. Pops of colours were introduced using soft furnishings and fixtures to add vibrancy to the space. The master bedroom and bathroom were kept minimal to maintain a clean and pristine setting.
