Concept: The former San Maurizio monastery dates back to 1619. For four hundred years, it has represented the memory of local knowledge and traditions: a place of culture for food, wine and wellbeing, both physical and spiritual. Maintaining and communicating this unique heritage was this project’s intrinsic and imperative goal.

Interior Identity Communication Development

The concept for this project was developed in order to take San Maurizio 1619’s soul and vibe beyond the boundaries of its local area, but without distracting clients from the products showcased for sale.

Volumes were intentionally kept simple, and materials selected amongst the typical ones of the area. Decorative elements were derived from custom drawings by artist Nicola Oliveri, inspired by monastic botanical documents, while products’ essences were crystallized like fossils into resin pieces by designer Marco Stefanelli.
