This Southwest Fort Wayne backyard gets a new look, and a new and improved purpose
Why now is the right time to move ahead with your outdoor living space endeavors, in spite of Winter’s chill.
Our recent outdoor living space transformation will help you realize your backyard potential
One of our most recent projects located on the north side of Fort Wayne epitomizes the concept of a “backyard transformation.” When Archadeck of Fort Wayne initially met with the homeowners, they wanted their existing wooden deck (showing signs of age and wear) replaced with a low maintenance composite deck. The final addition they ended up with was more than they had ever imagined possible. This project literally transformed their outdoor living space, while utilizing the same footprint as their old, existing deck.

This Fort Wayne deck and patio flows together effortlessly.
Of course, we incorporated the homeowners’ initial wish of replacing their wood deck with a new composite deck. We used
TimberTech Terrain
in Brown Oak and enhanced it with a double wide picture frame border using
AZEK XLM
decking in Walnut Grove with hidden fasteners. The elegant railing is
AZEK Premier rail
in Kona with black posts, which compliments the dual hues used in the deck. Taking the design a step further we also installed a versatile “
DeckMate
” buffet shelf as a companion to the homeowners’ grill. For added ambiance in the evening, and to aid in safety, we installed 12 volt
TimberTech
LED deck lighting in the stair risers.
The new deck is low maintenance and high aesthetic!
This backyard gets a new look and increased functionality.
At this point in the design is where the transformation begins to flourish; along with the new deck we also installed a paver patio just off the deck. The patio provides a level change while extending the new outdoor living space. The patio was built using
Unilock
Thornbury pavers with Brussels accents. The space includes a seating wall and columns also built from Unilock providing definition and additional seating, but the project did not end here..
The homeowners also wanted relief from the afternoon sun. Archadeck of Fort Wayne suggested the addition of a small, low maintenance vinyl pergola on the west side of the patio. The placement provides protection from the afternoon sun and is the perfect finishing touch to tie the new design together. The finished project flows like poetry in motion!

Though it is often difficult to imagine what your space can be, based on viewing it day-to-day in its current location or condition, we are experts at “rethinking” the design possibilities of your space!
