Residential Quarter Living Isar Munich

RESIDENTIAL QUARTER LIVING ISAR MUNICH 2022 — The new residential quarter is located in Munich Giesing on the former Osram site. Here, a piece of densified city is created with 17 houses and a total of 423 flats as well as two kindergartens. The quarter with its buildings of different heights appears to have grown by chance. The raised fields on which the polygonal buildings stand are modelled on the slabs of the Isarauenpark. The basic form of all the houses creates a relationship to the central green space, which directly adjoins the Isar river.

The residential buildings are each grouped around a common elevated inner courtyard with private gardens, green spaces and public children's playgrounds in front. Flowing open spaces between protected intimacy and opening expanses offer a special quality of stay. The paths are reserved for pedestrians and cyclists. Towards the busy road in the north, the buildings are lined up next to each other, the narrow gaps between the building plots closed with glass noise barriers.
